I don't think any smart coach is going to walk in and start turning away higher rated recruits a week or two before the early signing period.

Usually they are trying to save every possible one.

You can't be picky that early on. Unless someone is just going to be a absolute cancer/mental case... you probably are gonna take them.

There just isn't enough to time to flip/turn a bunch to get the guys you want.

The second class is what will be the real measure of how they do on the recruiting trail.

If Tennessee boat races you again, start panicking.

Look at the current roster on bot6h teams. Tennessee has a huge advantage. I am not worry I told Mizzou fans to give time to get those top recruits to chance to get on the field. Mizzou is far down on the afterage * ratings on the roster in the SEC. Vandy is dead last and Mizzou is 13th. That is why need to build the program. Give it time. Odom were recruiitng in the 30s and 40s. That will not work against good SEC teams. Drinkwitz is the first ever to bring in a very good recruiting class that got more than two 4* recruits in a class. That is much needed to get a HC that can get more 4* and 5* recruits.

Telling them go away wasn’t anything I ever heard. I did hear suspicions that he black balled some of the players that were entering the draft due to their poor attitude and work ethic. Kept them from being drafted. DJ Hall being one of them.

rumor mill has it that he's coming after Walker Howard.

Y'all can put that one to rest like LSU fans need to put any and all Manning rumors/hopes to rest.

But to the point of the thread: I think with new coaches, you're going to see serious house cleaning moving forward, especially with the transfer rules being so lenient now.

The Bamas, LSUs, and Floridas of the country don't need to stress about that. Short term losses for long term gains, and these schools can turn it all around with just one recruiting class.

That all may be true enough but your DC completely blew the scheme fit vs Tennessee. Those Missouri players were completely lost and that's not a physical advantage for the vols, that is a mental one. I've watched it often enough myself with Golding.

Well Golding is rounding into form. Mizzou is slowly getting better on defense. Next year with a full offseason and it should be much better. Better players coming in and some others getting the expereince should help. Give Drinkwitz 2 more years with two good recruiting classes.

recruiting was the sole reason we hired him.

We're going to be very patient and I think we'll position ourselves for after this signing day's over, we'll go see what's left out there and do the very best job we can do.” - Billy Napier
