Bama Fans: Did Saban tell any of Shula's recruits to "kick rocks" when he took the HC job?

It seems like we've lost 4 top recruits within 2 days of Napier on the job recruiting.

4* Nick Evers QB - Met Napier and decommitted
4* Chandler Smith WR - Haven't met/contacted and decommitted
4* Jaydon Gibson WR - Haven't met/contacted and committed

A lot of Gator fans are freaking out on 247.

Apparently, Evers wanted assurance that he was the only QB in the class and I guess Napier couldn't guarantee it.

Saban cleaned house. Not just players either.

I heard he fired a fricking janitor for cleaning the shitters and not making their asses quit.

Should have started freaking out when FL fired Mullen, so good for them. Will FL fire Napier when his winning % falls below .800, even if it means sacrificing years of work. This is called gambling folks.

No don't think Saban rejected any of Shula Commits at all Actually and a number of those guys turned into good players and many of the commits in that class Saban talked into committing left a year or two after coming to bama... The Truth be known those 08 and 09 bama teams had a ton of Shula guys that turned into players undrer Saban. The reason I know Saban can coach up lower rated players...

Plenty of guys left when Saban became coach of Bama. Florida and LSU fans are all worried as I'm sure Bama fans were. But look how it turned out. It's not always bad to let some good players go. It might turn out overall better for the team.

This happens with any major regime change at schools of our caliber. Florida will be fine.

It's just the dumbasses like Aggie and Ole Miss that don't understand since they will never reach our heights.

If that be the case, apparently it would have been
an understanding already reached with Mullen. If
so, can't blame Napier for running his own show.
This kid took a parting shot at Napier with his
announcement and maybe needs to go some place without
competition :
"I'm so thankful to Coach [Dan] Mullen and Coach [Garrick] McGee, who gave me the
opportunity to attend UF. Additionally,
I want to thank Coach [Billy] Napier for allowing me to be a small part of his vision."

Don't know if he told players on the roster to kick rocks, but he sure as hell told the best recruits we'll win with you or without you.

That's Rick Flair level bravado.

Didn’t tell him to kick rocks but he humbled Prince Hall who had a great freshman year under Shula. But didn’t do the stuff it took to win so he hardly played under Saban

Yeah I notice that, too. That it was an interesting choice of words.

Saban famously "processed" a whole bunch of people. I don't know the body count, but it was a noteworthy thing at the time as to how many of the then current Bama players were being "suggested" to gtfo.

New coaches worth their shite, especially if there is a culture problem like Florida has, will clean house. New recruits and current players. Expect a LOT of dudes to bail via portal.

ND was his backup school if LSU didn’t make the right hire, and then we hired NDs coach. Howard is 100% locked in now. That’s straight from his Dads mouth

Mizzou fans were panicing when the new DC wasn't doing a good job early in the season. It took some time to get everything to gel. I told them give him time due to coming from the NFL and was out of job for a year.

I don't remember losing any commits right off.

We had several players that didn't pan out the first year or so though and never really played again, etc.

I think saban gave everyone a chance by my memory and convinced some to stay.

Javier Arenas comes to mind.

I don't know that he really had the option to tell anyone (especially recruits) to "kick rocks" when he first arrived. We needed all the help we could get that first year or two.

However, like I said, there were many that didn't pan out.

If Tennessee boat races you again, start panicking.
