He took over a bad defense and did pretty good in his first game compared to last year.

This is what LSU has been relegated to. So sad.

Was he? Above average might be more accurate.

Bama fan is indignant over some Mizzou posters mocking LSU after their offseason of "gloating" over pulling Baker away from Mizzou for $2 million ?

don't really understand the tendency from so many Mizzou fans to constantly hate on Baker on this board.

Really? All the crap LSU fans talked when hiring him away and now we look better off. You didn't think Missouri fans are going to want to take some laps while the weather is nice?

GTFO with that weak sauce.

I'm saying I don't exactly understand what you're "taking laps" over.

Baker took over a trash defense and gave up 27 to Lincoln Riley, you "look better off" because you played Murray State.

Mizzou looks better off because we are ranked #9th and are 1-0?

The big concern you're ignoring is that BK only scored 20 on Lincoln Riley.

I mean it was a new offensive coordinator, new quarterback, lost two best receivers, best running back, new center, also missing two other receivers due to injury.

There were bound to be offensive struggles, and Lynn is a great DC.

I don't think you're going to find many LSU fans that were explicitly upset with Baker. The defense was better, but still not great. But most of us agree there was some tangible progress. We'd allowed 20 points up until the last 8 seconds vs what is typically one of the best offenses in the country.

Last years pass rush was basically non existent. Sunday the d-line got into the backfield and disrupted a few plays, nearly forced 3 turnovers. We knew where some weak points would be. Sage Ryan and Major Burns in the secondary were not good last year and still aren't very good. But most of us hope these guys are veteran placeholders who eventually give way to some younger guys.

From what I saw in the last 5 minutes or so the defense is not ready to carry this team. The offense has to do more. But the defense did enough for LSU to win this game. They got a couple of crucial stops to get the ball back to the offense and the offense botched it. So to me there was progress made given where this group left off last year. They still need to get better but that was game 1. So we'll see what becomes of it.

…and this is about the 55th time you’ve posted the same inane comment.

What gives? Why are you so obsessed with Mizzou? I can honestly say I don’t know one Mizzou fan that cares about OU even a tenth as much as you do Mizzou.

If I had to speculate it is because as better as you were in the past (you were, no question), you are pissed to join the SEC at a time when everyone agrees that Mizzou is far superior to OU.

Laying this insecurity out for all to see is a lot more transparent than you realize.

Data says he was slightly above average at Missouri.

Correct. We fricked up hiring him. I said that day he was hired. Now we have a 50 million buyout for a coach that built his resume on G5 success, lower tier NCAA division championships, and that BS annual Notre Dame schedule.
