Don't we have a poster here from Clay? Praying for everyone down there. My little bro lives near Pinson and I haven't been able to get him on his cell. Anyone else having trouble with cell calls, towers, service, etc.?

I've got a friend that lives in Pinson and we can't get her on her cell or house phone. I'm pretty sure something is up with the towers in that area, bc my calls anywhere else are going through.
I hope you hear from your brother soon and he is ok.

Text messaging is a lot more likely to be successful than calling.

True, but if there is something wrong with the towers, I doubt they'd go through either. FWIW, we've all sent her texts too. She isn't responding.

Damn. Southeast Alabama and Georgia are getting pounded now. I'm just now looking at the radar for the first time since 3:15am.
Stay safe beaver!

Spoke to my dad this morning. He lives on Lake Mitchell (near Clanton) and commutes to Selma each morning and makes the drive through Maplesville each morning. He got halfway to Maplesville from Clanton and the Sherriff made him and everyone else detour. He said he saw a turned over trailer and a trampoline just off the road along with large down trees everywhere. He said something pretty big went through the area just east of Maplesville. He wasn't able to go through Maplesville proper though.

That is the strangest commute I've ever heard of...... I was near Lake Mitchell when the tornado came over Cargile Creek on its way to Hatchet Creek.

Reported casualties were a 16 year old in Clay and an 82 year old in oak grove.

Man Alabama can't catch a break when it comes to tornadoes. Hope everyone is ok

seems like Alabama has become about as active as Okla when it comes to twisters. Certainly had to get use to this pattern since I moved here in 2010. With the mild winter, hurricane season will be a mother fricker this year.

Been reading about the damage. It's so sad about the 16 year old girl killed last night. My prayers are with everyone affected. Hope all of you and your relatives and friends are ok.
I live in Albertville, Alabama and we seem to have made it though these storms. I do have a friend in Trussville.

Hurricane season scares me. I've got family on the Gulf Coast and when the storm moves inland it spawns tornadoes. Double whammy

I live in Pinson. There is no cell service. Took me 4 hours to make my usual 20 minute commute.
