Amazes me how they survive/hibernate for so long. Started in November and they are just now starting to come out.

They gain over 100 pounds for the winter and go into a deep sleep for the rest of that time.

I read where a black bear can eat up to 30 Big Macs a day.

They are timid animals as they are killed by larger bear species. They are pretty much scared of anything. They also are excellent tree climbers.

Did you not read that part?
I sincerely doubt that many folks go bear hunting primarily for its meat! Figure the total cost of hunting it, then talk to some people who've eaten the meat, and you'll realize that's not really why they do it.
