What is obvious from the deviations is that the computers like the humans need more input. Also it would be interesting to note what each program "valued" more for the data at hand. I'll leave that up to LSUMatt. I do hope once that the committee has the the final rankings in place, someone uses the old BCS formula to see the difference.

who the F are they ranking 27, 22, and 29 teams ahead of them?

A bunch of Big 10 teams that already have 1 loss. This is the same system that at the end of last season (and not a way to early 2014 poll/system) had Auburn rated 25th behind teams like Texas, Wisconsin and Boise State.

For Auburn, that's Bassett. Some are arguable to an extent (FSU, Alabama, Oregon) but most are off. REALLY notable strange ones:
TCU
BYU
BSU
(Auburn is probably hurt by having played in 1 less game so far this year)

For A&M:
That is XWP, or expected win %. Deviation is possibly because they admit they use prior season data, until the teams can be interconnected.

For LSU, that's Solecismic. LSU gets hurt really bad because they:
A.) Have a VERY low opinion of Wiscy (64th)
B.) They played an FCS school (so counts as a non-rank)
C.) ULM is ranked 98th, so beating them by 31 doesn't help either

Really, for LSU, it's the FCS school that really drags them down. It will balance out, I presume, once that game isn't 33% of their games played.

Maybe they should use superior computers.

Let's be honest, a Vandy student/grad probably hacked that one to get us so high.
