for the auburn defense to be better in 2010, it's gotta come from the interior of the defensive line. Guys like Nick Fairley, Mike Blanc, and Zack Clayton have to step up. Whitaker will definitely get in the rotation and should help, especially on 1st and 2nd downs.

We're solid, but not great, across the board... we just need a couple guys to step up and become game-changers -- Freeman and Fairley are my pics. I think Mike McNeil as the ability as well, provided he's at 100%.

He really does... his problem last year was adjusting to SEC from JUCO and getting banged up. If he stays healthy, watch out...

The guy was all-state in basketball and football at the 6A level... he's also got that mean streak you love to see in defenders... I'm really hoping he can put it together for next two seasons.

They will always be soft on D due to their lack of a physical mentality as a team.

Well, maybe we should call the Pacific Institute to brainwash our kids also.

I'm excited to see what Eguae does as well, but he's gonna be an end... we need the interior guys to really step things up for the defense to improve the way we want.

Eguae will definitely be a guy to watch for during spring... hopefully he's 100% now.

Sorry my friend. Auburn is more like a Big 12 team than an SEC team. The Chiz caters to Malzahn's ego too much.

exactly, we will have to be better...

if our offense is better and our defense is better(which shouldnt be that hard to improve on) then i think we have the potential to compete in every game on our schedule... will we win them all, no..... but we will have enough talent on the field to be competitive each week.

and if you dont show up, (bama last year) you could find yourself in trouble...

plus depth wise, we will be able to rest some folks at times... last year we entered a few games with only 3 LB's on the roster...

look out, we are coming!

Not to say he's a my favorite Auburn player, but I watched him every chance I got. He reminds me of the man in my sig, it's amazing how he can move for a man that big...

Where was this shite talking when Chizik was the defensive coordinator at Auburn and he was shutting everyone down. He was beating that arse that is Alabama.

Everyone Knows that was Tommy Tuberville's Defense. That was what every damn last one of you Au fans were saying when he left Au. and same for the other D-Coord that left Au for Ut.

He lead Au to one of the worst years of Defense at Au and his Defense was terrible at Iwo State. As a head coach his d's have sucked.

Makes as much sense as saying Arkansas' defense is "sured up" doesn't it?

bullshite, I'm confident. Bama will Beat Au this year, next year and the year after that. You Au fans are the insecure little brats that are always complaining about mean ole Bama and Nick Saban.

But leave it up you Au fans start in on the personal attacks when you can not dispute a post that is critical of your wannabe program and coach.

I love how it's convenient for rival fans to make this argument. The guy stepped into a terrible spot with our defense. It was as thin as it's been in years. Any time you finish the year with 3 LB's and 7 DB's, you know you've got serious depth issues.

Think about that. 3 LB's. Do you think there was another team in all of division 1 football that played their last game with only 3 scholarship LB's, not to mention one was a true freshman that was about 205 lbs soaking wet? And even before that, going down the stretch when we had 4 and 5 LB's to play in the thick of our SEC schedule. You're just not going to have great results with #'s like that.

I am fully confident that we'll be better this year though. I don't think we'll have a great defense. It will be good. It could end up great, but I think it will take at least another year of recruiting to put together what they want to get a great defense. By great, I'm talking about the AU defenses of 03, 04, 05. Those type of defenses. Top 10-20 in scoring, etc.
