Serious case of Rantardness here.
Lemme help you out a bit.
First) The sideline judge stands at the spot where the ball is snapped. This would be at the 1 yd line.
Second) He moves up to mark the spot when the play is called dead.
Third) He sees Mullen and immediate whistles for the clock to stop.
Now, if you look at the clock, you would see 10 seconds left is correct.

It's understandable, and no one will ever defend that, it's an absolute black eye.
The problem is that this had digressed into LSU fans crying foul from refs.
You cleary don't know the scenario of the Mullen time out (also where were his players on that one) but are using this as proof positive of your position when you're mistaken of the facts. Very flawed argument.

horrid display. frankly doubtful any LSU fan will ever be able to move past it. The dislike will stem from that starting point for along time IMO

Announcers are all I have to judge a game by. I don't think they had an agenda by making the comments they made, both about the spot and about Mullen trying to get the TO. Thanks to the other poster for posting the sequence of Pics.

Just watched it again on ESPN3, there was 11 seconds left when Ballard went down. 10 seconds was the right call, but even if it should have been 11 it wouldn't have made a difference. The announcers aren't always right. Use your own eyes and judgment.

Ha... I know, logic not accepted here.
If anyone is to blame for the TO, it's Mullen. Experienced HCs are planted firmly next to the sideline official before the ball is snapped and calling a timeout before the play is over. Mullen was no where in the picture before the ball was snapped. Having to run 15 yards to get his attention is his own damn fault. Sideline officials always move up to mark the spot when the play is over.

And the clock kept running after they(refs) signaled the timeout hence the time added back to the clock. Plain and simple Mullen was on the field prior to the play being rulled dead.
Mullen was pissed they did not call the play dead earlier because his dumbass, 1. decided to run it 2. wasted time calling that play 3.player decided to fight it and not go down allowing the clock to run

3.player decided to fight it and not go down allowing the clock to run

Understandable, how that shows LSU gets cheated by the refs is where i'm lost.

THis is very true. Also to Joey, I was about to type out what you said in your last post. You are right. Mullen Should have been next to the ref, should have told him he wanted a TO at the whistle.
Gotta run guys, enjoyed it!

GOAL LINE PLAY
a. Position same as scrimmage play.
b. On snap between 5 and 10 yard line, release slowly downfield and stay ahead of runner to goal line.
c. On snap inside 5 yard line, release to goal line and officiate back to ball.
d. Note farthest point to which ball is advanced.
1. If short of goal line, move in quickly and help by marking point with downfield foot or by actually placing ball.
2. If you see ball in possession of runner touch or cross goal line plane instantly give touchdown signal.
3. If ball does not cross goal line plane do not give any signal.

Ultimately it doesn't matter, because another second or two still wasn't enough time for MSU to run another play. Also, even if it was a bad call, it is a long way from indicating some kind of intentional preferential treatment for AU. To make such a claim, one would have to ignore all of the bad calls that go against AU in the games. Additionally, why the frick would the SEC care if AU or MSU won the game?
