Not a shite show with how it was handled internally. Became a shite show when certain people leaked it to certain people in order for it to be made public. AU did exactly what any organization does today. People who call it a shite show by Auburn have no clue about how EEO and Sexual Harassments complaints are handled by Government and public institutions. The "everyone else" you reference in your post are clueless or just plain dumbasses.

AU has a restructured NIL organization that the AD is very pleased with. Getting everything under one umbrella.

Honestly, no, it is more about so many changes occurring very quickly. AU has always been a rollercoaster and we had much worse seasons near the end of Tubbs and Chiz.
But the recent changes all seem to just reinforce that college football is now a game of mercenaries. Traditional rivalries, geographical consistency and being an actual amateur athlete all appear to be going away at a rapid pace. The "Adults" are running this sport into the ground for short term profit.
Even teams who might benefit from these changes will probably come to regret them.

I sure hope so. We go another cycle or two recruiting at the bottom of the SEC, it would be hard to recover even with Andy Reid coaching.

It is all about marketing to your alumni base. Smart to consolidate and placing a trusted name in charge. AU has a lot of untapped dollars that they will target under one name. Many feel that AU is a sleeping giant over the years from a money standpoint, and the Athletic Dept didn't want too many chefs in the kitchen. Greene feels differently and the President understands the use of athletics. We will see.
