Would people still think they would win the SEC West if they had gone 8-4 last yr.Luck has a way of smiling on you one yr and kicking you in the balls the next yr.I think all the games in the SEC West will be close this yr,most teams are pretty evenly matched imo. What's your opinion?

Well, Auburn was a couple minutes from winning the national title, and yet plenty of people think LSU or Alabama will win the west instead of them, despite the fact that Auburn will likely be far closer to their end of 2013 form that other SECW teams.

It isn't realistic to look at close outcomes in individual games, for the proposition Auburn could easily have been 8-4. You have to consider the "luck" in conjunction with the fact that Auburn played 3 top 5/10 teams to end the year and went 2-1, and could easily have won them all.

I think it would be a rare occurrence that a lucky 8-4 team gets the ball to bounce like that.

Anyway, Auburn could very well be better all around next year, with worse results. That is my prediction, although I still think it'll be a good year.

Could've easily lost them all. I understand your fandom but there is lucky and then there is omg craziest thing I ever seen lucky. Auburn had several crazy lucky plays last yr.Y'all also had 3 close games with Ole Miss,Texas A&M,and MSU not exactly top caliber teams. I just dont consider Auburn to be an elite team.y'all are a very good team top 10-15, not elite imo.

Even if the went 8-4 they would be one of the favorites because of what they return, especially on O.
