I just don't see Auburn having much success running the ball.

I will be interested to know how bama plays it. From what little bits I have watched of Bama games this year, it seems their defense concentrates on a stalemate at the LOS rather than getting to a QB/into the backfield which often results in overrunning plays and, in the age of no barred holding in the SEC, doesn't usually get a defense to the QB all that much quicker. They also have CJ Moseley at ILB who is not just excellent in coverage but very good at anticipating and clogging passing lanes.
The Bama offense also has its full offensive complement of WRs and RBs, and UGA, once it got going, showed just how weak the AUburn D is behind the DL. Once AU had to keep up with UGA in the 4th, you could tell Nick Marshall was pressing and made poor throws and decisions.
It will help AU to rest up this weekend, but I am not sure it will make any difference in the game.

quote:Even though I, by no means, think Auburn will run all over Alabama, I still think we will get ours... Nobody has been able to stop us all year. Granted, our rushing game hasn't played anyone near Alabama's caliber in rush defense, but Alabama's defense hasn't played anyone close to the caliber of Auburn's rush offense.
No one has been able to run on us this year, not sure why Auburn would be much different.
quote:Fair point, I can't argue this.
Even when AU had Cam Newton, Omac, and Micheal Dyer, they still couldnt run the ball on us
I think the overall setup of the 2013 Auburn offense is faster, quicker, and probably more athletic. Mike Dyer was great, but Tre Mason is a better athlete. Corey Grant is just as fast as Onterio McCalebb, but quicker. And Cam Artis-Payne is better than Mario Fannin. We also didn't have as many athletes out wide that could spread the field, but we did have more solid, reliable players in 2010. There is no Cam Newton, so we are still at a loss there...a loss that can't be made up.

I doubt AU puts up big rushing numbers against Bama for 2 reasons.
1. They are too good in fitting run gaps
2. Bama will control the clock AU's defense will have a tough time getting off the field
With that said I think AU will still be able to move the ball with Ricardo Louis and Grant around the edges.

Not true we played LSU...they have one of the best offenses in the country......right? wait.....right?

Wasn't supposed to be a shite talking threat but since it has. LSU stomped Auburn's arse this year!!

Attacking the edges of Bama defense is key but Grant hasnt had more than 10 carries in a game all season...highly doubt Gus decides to turn him loose vs Bama.

Yes, you are crazy.
they will have success, but not whoop LSU success. That is bama's trademark.

Bama allows 90 yards per game in the conference. Auburn runs for about 150 per game. The key will be stopping Marshall.
Now here is the problem with AU. They are giving up over 500 yards in the conference game and Bama will run and throw on them much like UGA did or more so.
Bama offense will outscore the Auburn offense and Mosely will shut down Marshall. A miracle will not save them this time.

He is a very good runner. I'm not sure why you would think this.

Many Camera's have tried and just can't capture them on film.
eta: found one for you to look at.
Important for you to keep focused on the gif as Tre and Grant run through pretty damn fast.
