WTF are you talking about? The game was played 1 time in Athens up to til 1959 and after it was rotated between campuses.

It was always played at a "nuetral site" except 1 time.

Columbus was and is a big UGA town. I talked to people over the years and they all said Columbus was not a "neutral site" during those game. There was a push to get the GT, UGA and UT game on campus during the 60/70s. GT finally came in 1970 after they had left the SEC, UGA in 1960 and UT in 1974 . AU didn't have much of a voice back then.

That certainly settles it then.

UGA didn't have much pull back then as well.GT and Bama pretty much dictated terms to most teams. Don't believe UGA ever refused to go to Auburn (they did travel to Montgomery to play)

Everything was driven by finances and both schools weren't exactly rolling in money back then.

BS, Wally Butts had as much clout as anyone in the SEC.

Twice (1908, 1909). They also played in Savannah and Macon.

Not even close to the Bear and Dodd.

Correct but still don't know where you're getting the narrative that UGA refused to play on Auburn's campus... that's a GT move.

Talk to some old-timers. Read the book SEC Football by Richard Scott.

So did Auburn "refuse" to play at Athens all those years? (except for 1 time)

I know several "old timers" and never heard your narrative.

Read the Book, it is just one source but it repeats what I have heard for years.

I guess the SEC didn't see it that way.

Then why is every article link y'all post & thread on here revolve around "playing UGA & Ala. so close to each other/on the road in the same years"?

I haven't posted any articles about that.

Again, apparently the SEC, including your AD didn't seem to have a problem with it. Not sure why your fans are so hung up on it. Done deal.

Because there was no need to reschedule the game. & unless Aub. plays 2X @ UGA, they will ALWAYS play DSOR & IB on the road in the same years.

It is about season tickets on even years. November is UGA (away) , 1AA team and Bama (away) . Home season is over in late October. Nobody cares about giving someone an edge, it is about money. Accept it.

Soooo.

Who is replacing UGA? Who is the big get for your even year home schedule?
