Is attrition taken into consideration?
IN the sense that they used the current best guess of the two deep roster, yes.

How 'bout when a 4-5* QB gets shuffled over to defense?
I suspect the research was done and possibly the article written before that change was announced. Doesn't change anything though with regard to the recruiting rankings of our QB position.

Ok fair enough but until they start winning 10 games every year they are not ahead of Bama, LSU and UF.

Third most talented team in the SEC is a stretch. I definitely think they are the second most talented team in the West.

If only you could have mentioned cigars you'd really have riled the lsu fans up with that one.

How was Nic Marshall calculated?

Is Frazier in your two deep at S? A five star?

People that aren't so insecure and defensive can see the article and information for what it is and discuss it.

Maybe, maybe not. Talent is only one part of the equation. For example, in 2010, AU was not more talented than UA or LSU, but the other things that matter worked in their favor.

Do you really think on the aggregate that Rivals rankings are that vastly different than whatever site you give more credence to?

Individual players are going to vary, but on the whole they will be pretty similar.

I Agree with you and the writer of the article on this one...as I have said many times on here Gus was the best hire of the offseason. Im not going to say that they are a 10 win team but offensively with the system he runs and the talent they have they will definitely be better.

Defensively they should be better as well and they have the talent and coaching to be much better in that area as well. Ellis is a terrible head coach but a pretty good DC

You lose the ability to see posts after a certain amount of time. For example, you can only see my history back to 9/18/08, but I've posted longer than that. With a 2007 date, probably just posts from a long time ago.

Marshall is the starter at QB as a 3-star because he seems to be ahead. Not that it matters, as Johnson is a 3-star as well. Frazier is not in the safety depth chart yet, because I have no idea if he's one of the top four there, so I went conservative and left him off.

I'm probably not as knowledgable as you on AU's depth chart. I believe if you are consistently in the top 15 recruiting, you generally are recruiting as well as those ranked higher. These rankings are generally based on a few pinheads evaluations anyway. With that being said, right now, it looks like AL, LSU, GA, Fl., have the best overall talent. Then UT, AU, USCe, A&M, are right behind, but they could make that up with a great recruiting class where most of the kids actually pan out and contribute. OM is closing in on this group. Vandy, UK, Mizzou, MSU, and Arky are a few tiers lower on overall depth, at this point. Not saying on any give wknd they couldn't beat any of the above with their best 30 players,we are talking recruiting, and the best talent doesnt always translate to the best team. Arky has done this in the past as well as anyone in the SEC.
But to say Au has any more talent than, UT,A&M, USCe, esp Ga, esp LSU, and maybe even OM is grasping for straws.
