I looked at Auburn boards for some information and you sort of get the feeling that a very select few are more involved in the fact that Bammers from Tidefans are being classless assholes than they are in the actual tragedy. That sort of thing drives me insane too. I wish people would just shut up. The very last thing I am thinking about when I read about this is a rivalry. Humanity should transcend that.

This is the first time I can remember his name popping up for off field issues. Also, I have had a skirmish or two over a girl. It happens among men throughout the world. You just don't expect a gun to come into play. I really don't see where Benton should be called out in this case. He should be credited for listening to his teammate and walking away. If the story is even fact.

I don't know if it has been mentioned but he was a 1st cousin of former AU CB Montravious Pitts(sp?).

Like I pointed out to WDE, I think he was involved somehow, even if it was only tangentially, with the Dyer-Goodwin-McNeil-Etc crowd.
Doesn't mean he's done anything wrong or broken any rules (a la the Dyer/Goodwin/McNeil's/etc). But he seems to live on that edge.
Like I said, I may be wrong. But when it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck... ?

What's the history of the suspect? I saw that he had a record, but nothing much more. Was this a kid that they hung around with or was this a verbal altercation between two parties that didn't know each other that some a-hole took to a tragic level?

I have learned this with age. I also feel the same way about some of the Auburn sites. I absolutely hate it when our fan base blames/mentions/connects everything with Alabama. . And it infuriates me to no end.
Our turds are no better than the bama turds. IT just depend on what side of the fence you stand on. It does not have the be that way. But for some reason, neither fan base will stand up and be the bigger man.
Personally, i do not remember any off field issues with Benton. He has never produced on the field but that is not a issue. Lots of players go that route. I hope he was not involved.

They will catch him and fry him. Previous gun charges, stolen vehicle charges, even allegedly shot a guy in the groin, at least 2 kids with 2 moms seeking child support...a terrible loser and criminal. Nice apartment complex where this happened...only about 3 years old...lots of great kids live there.

It's 10 or 11 years I believe. It's the old exchange. My wife lived there in its first year. Still a nice place though.

You are correct, but I do not believe we should even remotely tie these two events together. Leave that to Fbaum and his callers... There were 70 people at the party, the players and everyone at the party are victims.

I'm in no way saying it is a Bama centric issue, as it has been well noted that ITAT and other AU sites are full of conspiracy theorists who hate Bama more than they love AU. Just stating that I find it mind blowing that tidefans and bamamag allow these psychos to be admins. ITAT may as well, but I would not know as I don't frequent there due to me seeing Auburn differently than they do. If it is the same case with admins there being as batshit crazy as TIDE_HSV and BamaAlex, then they are just as wrong.

Which Boards, ITAT catches a lot of crap on this site, but there is not a single thread describing this.... Same goes for Auburn Eagle... I just do not see it...

I saw the main suspect's home on the news earlier. He lived with his grandparents. It appeared to be a nice middle class home from the two second video of it.
