I've seen enough crazy people that I think it would be unsettling to have the reputation of being the person who ratted out Rudolph. I'd probably want to keep a low profile too.

These fricking reporters are just as bad as the worst posters on the message boards.

Did someone actually ask Chizik that? There are some stupid and ignorant reporters out there.

His press conference he just gave. One reporter asks how he thinks this will affect recruiting and will this take a toll on the current players for the upcoming season. Chizik has to explain to him that football is secondary at this point and all he's worried about is getting the players mentally recovered from this.

And when he says no...they have their angle to paint Bama poorly as insensitive.

Ah the Alabama Media.

He handled it fine. Stated that he had received so many outpourings of condolences that he hadn't had time to read or respond to them all...greatful for everyone who reached out to Auburn. Typical Gene answer.

You know, for as much as the Alabama media likes to rag on the fans for making the rivalry bigger than life, they are probably responsible for a majority of the BS between the two schools.

Yeah, ended about 5 minutes ago. I'm sure they'll have a link to the replay shortly.

Ah the Alabama Media.
Doesn't matter what he says, if he answers the question specifically, part of the story becomes about football and the AU/UA rivalry. Some people find it impossible to view life outside of this prism.

Strange is a good mayor and is doing a lot of good things for Montgomery. A lot of towns would be very fortunate to have him.

Having said that, he looked like a total idiot last night. He came across as a total attention whore and made this case a joke. Some people just aren't very good "war time leaders."

Talking about "war time leaders".....

How would ole Mayor Emory Folmar have handled the same situation?

Emory would say frick the tear gas, pump that joint full of NAPALM! Get ready boys!
