You see it all the time when a new coach comes in. The upperclassman are usually loyal to the previous staff and they do not buy into the new coaches policies. The problem for Morris is the underclassman were not SEC level talent. You will see some of that from Ark this year, but the level of loyalty to Morris will be minimal. The program to look closely at next year is Ole Miss, Luke was big players coach.

Something happened that forced his hand. Zig didn’t happen at SMU. Bert doesn’t get nearly as much blame for this failure as deserved. Again, the roster was terrible (even the Bert leftovers), I think regretted taking the job from the beginning. Maybe he will get credit somewhere down the line with running some of those players off. I still think he knows Offense and will be a big upgrade over Gus’s playcalling.

Chad had our offensive linemen lose weight in order to be more effective downfield.But we couldn't get downfield because our linemen were too light to block against anyone.
Our qbs got killed and our defense was left on the field too long.Of course defense wasn't a priority.
Oh well,good luck with another high school coach.

Those same lineman were abused by the SEC the years before for being too big and slow. Something radical had to happen at Ark to bring change. Look for Ark to benefit from it down the line. Again, Bert needs the majority of the blame.

Chad wasn't there long enough to do anything.

Maybe Sam can beef these guys back up and make them tougher in order to not be wimpy texas high school grade players.

The fact that Bert only has one SEC win the year before, and that was a one point victory against Ole Miss, shows you the roster had issues. Chad really only had one recruiting class to fix it . I do not know what any coach could do in that situation. He would have been smart to not even take the job. That is why I thought it was foolish for AU to think Gus was going to leave for Ark.

Malzahn was not an option here.He got a raise out of the threat though.

But average at best at Arkansas is a colossal upgrade. That is why it was believable .

Bert would have at least beaten the OOC schedule and won a couple of those conference games. Chad is a terrible coach.
