The UGA Bama game was actually competitive. The UGA Auburn game was not.

Didn't Auburn have the ball driving to take the lead in the 4th quarter?

It was, actually. That game wss decided in the 4th quarter. Sorry, you were no closer in 2012 than we were in 2017.

Nope. After UGA's FG in the third, Auburn managed 26 yards before fumbling. UGA then punched it in for a TD and 2pt conversion. Auburn never came close to scoring from early in the third quarter on.

If Auburn runs the table they will be the top ranked team with one loss and easily make the playoff. UGa, LSU and Bama would all be ranked lower than Auburn.

So after making 2 1st downs and on a 1st down run we fumbled on the uga side of the field in the 4th quarter but somehow we never came close. Interesting perspective.

nothing has changed as far as the CFP playoffs is concerned. If we win out and win the SECCG, we are in.
That's what I said...Auburn's playoff chances are pretty much history. There ain't no Santa Claus, no Easter Bunny, no tooth fairy, and NO damn way Auburns's gonna beat LSU (in Baton Rouge), Alabama and Georgia TWICE this year. You can either think like a small child, or an adult realist...it's your choice.

Got it, so you don't know much about football either.

Again, from the OP's question, what has changed from the player's perspective on the season?

If they weren't going to play it safe before this game, why would they play it safe now?

Of course they can if they win out. The problem is they still have LSU, UGA, and Bama, who are better than UF. If they did end up beating them they'd still have UGA/UF in the SECC. Bo Nix has been better than expected, but asking him to win all those games is a tall order, especially for a frosh.

Nobody is arguing the task to do so isn't absurdly hard. What does that have to do with the OP's question? Was it less absurdly hard prior to the Florida game or something?

Crisp you act like Auburn and miracles don’t often occur. After that back to back 2013 Auburn gift from above, I’ll never count them out. If AU wins in Baton Rouge, they’re still alive for it all. If they lose to LSU, they can only hope to ruin Bama or UGA’s season. Either way they still have a lot to play for. Never underestimate your enemies Crisper.

Auburn beat 2 #1 teams at the end of that year to make the SECCG? They were playing great.

Until injuries piled up.

We limped into the SECCG with lots of injuries, including losing Kerryon Johnson in the Iron Bowl to injury? Would've been a miracle for Auburn to win out that year.

I gather many of you don't know a whole lot about what you're talking about.

Not making excuses, its just football.

This board is a pile of shite.

I appreaciate reading good posts like this here. This is spot on.

The chance of AU making the SECCG is extremely low, but there's a chance.

Offense def needs to play much better (esp the OLine) and Gus better get better and calling plays.

Florida will probably be the best defense AU plays this regular season.

Question is, can we keep up on offense against the damn good LSU and Bama offenses. Will be damn tough. AU will certainly need some help from above.

How many games did auburn lose last year? 4? They play UF, L8U, UGA and Bama. How many games is that? 4?

Auburn is historically a 4 loss team.
Lose to L8U and players will start looking around. GusBus will be under extreme pressure.

Did you see the movie Dumb and Dumber with a Jim Carey scene that reminds me of your post.
Mathematically Missouri or South Carolina could make the playoffs, but are you gonna really give them any chance?...HELL NO!
Get real!
