I look for their future 1st and second round draftees to play it safe the rest of the way in order to not get injured.

Remember they lost to LSU and Clemson in 2017 and still beat that Crimson arse. And almost made the CFP.

Of course they have a shot.

Still have LSU, Bama, Georgia then another top 10 team in the SEC title game.

Win all of those and they’d definitely be in

Auburn still has everything left to play for. Going undefeated in the SEC is not easy (unless you're Bama). Beat LSU, UGA, and bama and then UGA again in the SEC championship and they are in. Yikes. Nevermind.

FIFY
Seriously, Florida can beat UGA.

No, they can't. Unless UGA turns the ball over 4-5 times.

Lost in SECG that was actually a quarter final for the CFP.

You don't know very much about how football works, do you?

He's pretty much spot on, and his question is a legit one. Those 1st round Dlinemen (and others) who stayed could easily contemplate making staying healthy their #1 priority...wouldn't be the first time it happened.

Didn't they get crushed in their play-in game? Not sure if losing 28-7 is "almost" making it.

No he isn't.

From the Auburn player's perspective, nothing has changed as far as the CFP playoffs is concerned. If we win out and win the SECCG, we are in. So, why would players play it safe now, if they wouldn't have before the loss?

We have 3 top 5 teams remaining on our schedule plus the SECCG if we were to run the table. As far as end goals for the season are concerned, nothing has changed yet.

It's hardly easy for Bama either

Yes, losing a post season game fpr a spot in the playoffs after knocking off two top-ranked teams in a row is almost making it. Every bit as much as you frickers claim you were close in 2012.
