I agree with this. He's overly critical of auburn, but at the same time he sticks to auburn and doesn't throw shite out there to get the yokles fired up, like threads like these.

I see a lot of difference between the football stadiums and very little difference between the basketball and baseball facilities except that Bama's is bigger. AU's basketball arena is new, but also really small and does not look like anything special. Plus, football is all that really matters in the SEC and Bama has the best.

how is that new arena working out for auburn?

I went to the AU/Bama game this year in the new arena, it's a very nice venue. I love the counter's behind the stands where you can eat while watching the game. Their student section is nice, they pack all the student into a confined area which looks great on TV, but the stands were very thin for that game. I would've thought the Aubs would've come out in record numbers for the Bama game. Pitiful turnout though.

Meh, Auburn's new basketball arena is nice, new, and cozy but it's a bit lame that you guys had to make an already small arena even smaller due to your fanbase's lousy history of attending basketball games. So congrats I guess on the new arena. It IS nice and although I want a new arena at Alabama I'll settle for Alabama drawing at worse 50% more fans per game. Coleman has crummy sight lines and I'm tired of it as a venue but at least its clean and adequate and is in the upper half of the league in seating capacity.

Baseball is where Auburn puts Alabama to shame. Not only is Plainsmen Park much nicer than The Joe, it isn't really sacrificing any seating capacity either. Best of both worlds.

Plus the logo and colors are more unique than, the crimson and white ever changing logos.

If you are going to rip on changing logos, Auburn should at least settle on a name. You guys went from East Alabama Male College to the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama to Alabama Polytechnic Institute to Auburn University.

Oh and.....

Auburn also built a new arena smaller than the old one so it didn't look nearly as empty.

Damn.

Smack talk from the 1870s, 1890s, & 1960s. This thread turned out exactly how I imagined.

I love Plainsman Park, and I am completely fine with us downsizing the arena. And the downsize was not so drastic as some make out. Around a 13% decrease. In the last 20 seasons, we have had an average attendance in excess of the new arena's capacity exactly three times...

I always liked this Auburn logo because it reminds me of Anheuser Busch

If an Auburn fan is going to trash Alabama with an absurd claim that our logo is unoriginal, changes too often, and was stolen from the Braves, I am going to match it with an equally stupid argument that Auburn has changed its name 4 times.
