Awesome.

Maybe you can get your picture on the Wiki page for the statement "ignorance is bliss."

As someone from Louisiana, certainly you realize "Who dat" isn't the Saints' mascot, right? Same goes for "War Eagle." I understand it's a difficult concept requiring aptitude at a number of different levels, but if you keep coming back and trying to take the test, you'll eventually pass.

Ha, AU is on the defensive in this thread big time.

I think we get the battle cry, but why mix up 2 different animals to confuse people? Not to say the War Eagle isn't cool or anything, but to be the Tigers and chant about an Eagle... kinda awkward. Like do people on campus prefer one over the other? Isn't the Tiger's official name "Aubbie"? That's strikes two and three right there.

Who is confused...the simple minded? It's not being defensive it's just beating the same dull subject into the ground on a nice friday afternoon.

If you really need an explanation i can provide one for you.

I am fine with the War Eagle Tiger Plainsmen. Thanks though

That's usually sufficient for me too, although at least twice a game I'll throw in a "Let's Go Big Blue" as well. BTW, Kentucky copied us on that, since they only have one team name.

we dont sit there and chant about an Eagle. Since one of the origins of the story of "War Eagle" involved an eagle flying around the stadium i am sure it only made sense to have one that flew around the stadium. It never gets brought up in mascot talk except when other teams talk about it. It really is awesome to see. The Mascot's name is Aubie, just like LSU names their mascot Mike. do you wanna go there?

No one calls you the "LSU GEAUX TIGERS!". I dont see why this is subject keeps being brought up.

If "LSU Geaux" was the name of another animal, people would bring it up for us, too.

Yet, the same people who still can't understand the difference between a mascot and battle cry fail to bring up bammer.

Crimson Tide...
Elephant walking the sidelines...

Makes total sense.

Or how about Michigan...
Go big blue...
Wolverine...

Is it the fact that our pre-game eagle flight is so awesome it causes non-stop jealously to everyone in the SEC?

That's perfectly logical... Crimson Tide is not an animal. The color blue is not an animal.

Eagles are animals and tigers are animals. Is the eagle like the tiger's mascot? I guess that would make sense. Your mascot has a sidekick mascot.

Auburn's nickname is the TIGERS.
Auburn's battle cry is "WAR EAGLE!"

Then why is there an eagle on the sideline if it's only a "cry"? Seems like a mascot to me.

Cam wants to change it to "War Hewlett Packard" or "War Dell".
