Nah, man... Bama is the best this year. A good team would never allow LSU to go on a 28-8 run and get back into a game they were sure to lose.

There is no trophy for being the best team in Jan. The team with Jabari and Kessler was ranked #1 and mauling everyone this same time of the year before someone finally figured out how to defend them and we couldn't adjust.

Um, Texas A&M just beat Kentucky and they're one of the 3 worst teams in the league?

You outscored us by 2 in the second half. Still lost by double digits.

it's a bit early to anoint anyone as the best team in the conference.

Auburn does look impressive. Their offensive and defensive efficiency stats are both Top10 which is usually a good measure, even if early still.
However, there's a lot of depth in the conference and if a team separates itself it'll be by going on the road to the other top 9 or so teams and winning some games.
That may happen but my initial impression is that it's going to be a tight race where even 13-5 may win the league.
I wouldn't call any of the top 4 or 5 teams favorites until one of them adds a few Q1 road wins.

Agreed. Auburn looked elite for about 25+ minutes yesterday, then LSU went on a 21-2 run. Auburn stopped the bleeding a +9 and won by 15, but elite teams do not allow a run like that to occur.
Auburn has a lot of depth and potential and they play well together, but the team is still immature and under development. That's one of the things I love about college sports, watching a team grow (you hope).
Just gotta enjoy the ride and after so many years of forgettable basketball, I'm going to enjoy the ride.

It's a hard year to win on the road. Seems like there's more parity this year. Normally Georgia and Ole Miss, for example, are hot trash. But both are pretty solid teams and look like they're headed to the dance.
Right now I'd agree, Auburn looks like the best team in the conference so far. Hopefully we can get our shite together by March.

Your football team is a joke.
We're talking about basketball, though.
And again, your team is a joke. You've played no one. UT will wipe the floor with you.

Didn't you guys just lose to Bama like 17 years in a row? Um, at least we managed to hold our own against Saban.

I like Auburn. I think I would give them the edge to win the SEC regular season, in large part due to their SEC schedule. Get Tennessee and Kentucky only once, Vandy twice and it breaks up nicely. Not a lot of good teams stacked in a row.
They are definitely the most balanced team in the SEC so far. However a couple of concerns, 1) they haven’t been in many close games. Can they make the critical play in one possession games? 2) No high end wins, they scheduled good names but a lot of the teams they scheduled are having down years 3) are they peaking too early? The only teams that can sustain this level of play all year are the ones with 2-3 first rounders. Auburn doesn’t have that.

Looks to me auburn has a team which will be hard to beat because of their depth. Bruce can plug different players in from the bench and not hurt the talent on the floor. Unless they have terrible luck with injuries they should be no worse then one of the top 3 in the league by tournament time.

You left out one fact.
Rick Barnes teams play like a bunch of street thugs.
Damn near as bad as a Frank Martin coached team.

Our depth is incredible. if we are going to go deep, a few of our players will need to continue playing exceptionally well though. As a matter fact, last year, we had decent depth as well, but no straw to stir the drink, so the season felt punchless. Jalen Williams, Broome. KD, CBM, Aden Hollaway all need to perform lights out in bunches
