Seems when Muschamp was at auburn before fans weren't in love with his defense. I remember lots of complaints that dbs didn't turn to see the ball. I also remember some bad defenses he had at Texas. He is a good DC, but I wouldn't call him a defensive guru.

2001 LSU: Total (75), Scoring (39)
2002 LSU: Total (8), Scoring (15)
2003 LSU: Total (1), Scoring (1)
2004 LSU: Total (3), Scoring (14)
2006 Auburn: Total (19), Scoring (7)
2007 Auburn: Total (6), Scoring (6)
2008 Texas: Total (51), Scoring (18)
2009 Texas: Total (3), Scoring (12)
2010 Texas: Total (6), Scoring (49)

Keep in mind that Texas' turnover margin was 116th in the country in 2010. His defense forced 18 turnovers and the offense turned the ball over 30 times

The only problem with Boom was he liked to Blitz on third and long, it resulted in a lot of third down conversions. AU only needs a good DC with Gus Offense.

That might have been true last night but in two of Auburn's losses this year auburn scored less than 24 points. Defense has to better than just "good" to win those two games. I really think AU fans think they can get an average defense and simply walk away with the title every year.

Why should we be worried? You fire someone every time Bama beats Auburn.

We don't think that.... Just look at bama. For the most part, lights out Def and avg Off. Yall compete every year. We are just trying to do the same thing in reverse.

Keep in mind those teams weren't sporting HUNH offenses either.

Will Muschamp stated he will be taking off a year to find himself. What ever that means. We shall wait and see.

this, plus it wouldn't be a good move imo. He's a great defensive mind but he's not gonna automatically fix the defensive problems. Auburn barely has any talent in that secondary and D-line. That is the biggest problem.

You do realize we have had a top 20 offense almost every year that Saban has been at Alabama? If that's average, I'll take it.

Intresting, I would equate Auburn hiring Muschamp as a similar to Bama hiring Lane Kiffin.

Auburn's real problem is trying to keep up with a current and ongoing dynasty at a better overall program.

Wow, Alabama fans are already scared shitless about the possibility of Muschamp. This is why they are trying to convince themselves it wont happen

Of course I have no inside info but if Malzahn felt he was getting nowhere with EJ then more power to him. I didn't think GM was going to do it this off season. I don't know about WM. I know he & Jacobs hate each other. I know WM won't come cheap.
