Lots of teams are questionable right now. Arkansas loses their qb who should have been in the senior bowl. MSU loses Dak. I do not know about Swag staying. Who knows what is going to come from the A&M mess? GA will have some growing pains with a new staff and very likely a true freshman qb.
All those offensive question marks for other teams makes me feel confident that if Auburn's offense is clicking again, the defense will not be poor enough to cost more than four games.
Let me get this straight. You are banking on everyone else getting worse. And your offense do just enough so the defense can slide by, just so you can keep Gus around a few more years? Damn!

You bitches are still afraid of Gus. It's evident in this thread.

I think the reality is that we're all afraid he's gonna get fired after next year.

after the last two average years and Bama playing in the final 4 and you really think we are afraid of Gus. I think most Bama fans have more fear in what is happening in Ark and UT then what is happening on the plains. We are laughing at your pain.

This place is terrible.

A&M has been without a competent OC for over 3 years now.

I concur, JK......What Gus biggest Flaw (I see) he's failing to adapt to ever shifting balance of Offense and Defense on a week to week basis according to the opponent style. People have years of tape of him running the same/similar stuff with very few wrinkles to keep a defense on its toes. Statistics don't lie it's rare you see a true NHO complimented by a stout defense. Auburn can try to spin it however they want but situation has a Chizik type feel to it. Let's not kid ourselves does any DC have the time to actually put their system in place before the seat gets warm?

December 6th through the present. Plus whatever little bit of time before the 6th that Malzahn knew Muschamp was leaving. Wonder how this uncertainty is affecting recruiting.
It didn't hurt us in the early enrollee period and now that we are in the dead period, it wouldn't matter if we get him now or right before the dead period.
At this point, I think we are letting Lance Thompson try out for it Wednesday.

Bottom line, in a bad season, we were close in most games. That goes both ways -- we could have lost a lot more or won a lot more.
The offense has to get better to win next year. The defense is important, but it will not be good enough next year to win many games for the team.

Who cares how long it's been?... why matters is the hire itself. And even then, we won't no shite for s few years.

I agree with this. The defense will not be good next year. There is a lot of work to be done.
To win consistently, the team will need a better defense, but it is foolish to expect it overnight.
