The only way we weren’t going to be the number one overall is recency bias.
Florida is playing better ball NOW, but the committee makes a point of it to weigh the entire body of work. No one approaches Auburn in that regard.

UF is playing the best ball by far but they lost to UGA recently and had a god awful non conference schedule. Can’t reward them for that.

Just like 2019, if AU does make the Final 4 nobody can claim they didn't earn it. Lots of good stuff in the route to get there. Possibly Louisville in Kentucky, mild chance at retribution with Yale, having to get through either Buzz who has Bruce's number or Tre Donaldson leading Michigan. All that before facing the legend Tom Izzo and Michigan State. Personally, I like it as it should keep the team focused.

Hopefully not turning my eyes to that until at least the 2nd weekend of the men's tourney.
Good luck to y'all...no slight meant against Auburn's team. I've felt like Florida was going to win the national title for about a month now. Basically only their random times where they couldn't make a FT late in a few games is the only weakness I see with them. When they're locked in, they can't be beat.
