Bill Clark would be a very good hire. It makes too much sense so Auburn will probably hire someone else.

I worked for Bill Clark, he's definitely a grinder. The one knock on him that Auburn fans are going to hate if he gets hired is that he always brings his staff with him wherever he goes, so there will be no big-name coordinator hires. He's also a control freak, so if the boosters have their hands in everything, I don't see him accepting.

After giving our money to Gus, there was only so much money left. Will be curious the offer he gets and if he accepts.

I would be extremely happy with this hire. He's not a "high school coach". He's been a successful head coach in college football for several years.

How many college jobs do you have to succeed at before you're no longer a high school coach?

So you're saying that he'll turn it down.

I'll put it this way, he basically had UAB's administration/boosters by the balls after the program was brought back.

2 of those loses were by a combined 7 points (1 in 2OT), the other was to Miami.

If he's a control freak then that's the best thing for Auburn. Their boosters need to be taken down a peg or two.

Whoever comes in needs to get Steele out ASAP

Then we should've just given Napier the keys.

Perfect fit for aweburn. They want all of their loses to be quality loses.

I still think it will be Sarkisian. I think Saban and Jimmy are helping him get more money out of Auburn!

Recruiting is going to be the problem with him. Especially if he intends to keep the UAB staff intact and bring them over.

Well the way this has gone, I fully expect "Bill Clark has withdrawn" threads in about 30 minutes.

All things considered, I really didn't want any aging retreads (Urban or Stoops), Steele, never really sold on Sark without Bama's talent. No doubt the guy can coach, but I wonder if he is going to be able to recruit against the rest of the SEC. I'm fine with the hire if that is who it is, anything would be better than another year of Gus.
