Beating bama = nice conference win
Crushing bama's spirit and soul in 1 second = priceless

Beating bama was more fun of course.
Biggest IB ever, bama was going for a third bcs championship, bama being a rival with so much as stake, everyone expecting bama to win and many expecting a blow out, the dramatic ending, etc.
Really this is a stupid question and appears to be another melt over that game.
Not to mention the entire country celebrated the AU win and it was all anyone was talking about the next week. Even people that don't follow college football.

If Auburn lost to mizzou, then the kick 6 would have been meaningless.
The title is what counts and you bammers all know that.
We are the SEC Champs and you are not allowed to talk smack until you unseat us.
We own you.

I thought this meltdown stopped, guess not.

Probably so since it was the biggest play in CFB history

Meh. They've had cute little tiger paws painted on the interstate entrance ramps and roads leading into Auburn for years so doing things to the football field is no big deal.

Winning the SEC Championship will always be a bigger accomplishment than winning a regular season conference game.
But it's foolish to think that the IB wasn't the more significant victory. It will be remembered long after any of the however-many NC games Bama currently claims.
But hey, your favorite school was a part of what is surely one of the most memorable moments in the entire history of team sports. You'll always have that.

My phone blew up all night after that game. People I had not heard from in years were texting telling me congrats and how awesome it was. Former coworkers and all types that just wanted to tell an AU fan congrats and I was the only one they knew.
That play and game really resonated nationally.

In all honesty it was the way it ended that made it so great. It's one of the greatest moments in CFB history now and not just to AU fans. Think about if the roles were reversed and Bama had pulled that off then went on to basically cruise through the SECCG. But IMO while it was a bigger "highlight" of course it wasn't as important. I'd rather win the SEC than beat Bama.

AtM beating bama was huge for AtM. It wasn't THE conversation nationally by everyone, even those that don't follow college football the next day and week.
Your comparison is bad.
