Or the 90s, when Alabama won 7/10. We'll see moving forward, since neither program has every been at this height at the same time.

I don't think that's a coincidence.

Several have answered in this thread about the rivalry but you aren't acknowledging any of it.

sorry, i kinda thought the thread died. I'm talking about just in general living in Alabama, it happens everywhere. from my experience, this is a football argument in Hoover:
"ROLL TIDE, 13 IS WHAT IT IS"
"well, we just won a championshi-"
"CALL ME WHEN YOU HAVE 13"
"Okay... "

Not all of us hate Auburn fans. I have many Aubie friends. Got no problem with the fanbase for the most part. Pugh, Smith and Fairley can all die in a car wreck though.

i think it's kind of funny that i post an objective thread asking Bama fans to rationally explain something, and 80% of the post from Bama fans completely prove my point about them being irrationally hostile.

I don't expect a LSU fan to understand it. No more than you could understand OU-Texas, Michigan-Ohio State, or Florida-UGa.

That's the one negative thing about being an LSU fan, our only real rivalry is with Bama and they dominated us until Les got there...as much as they make us try we just do not care about the Golden Boot. We proved how pointless that game was after we lost it and won a championship.

You can't be that stupid. I think you must be a kid. Bama is NO WHERE close to being our rivals. I put them maybe 4th on our list and that's only because we are both good at the same time. Some jackasses can't accept Saban as their coach but 80% of rational fans have moved on. Of the teams I consider more as rivals would be:

OM
AU
USCw - yes we never play but most LSU
Fans hate those bastards
Bama/Tulane

The funny thing is OM considers MSU more of a rival and probably Memphis as equal to LSU.

USCw - we don't even register to those bitches

Of course there is Arky who thinks they are Rivals with LSU and LSU is apathetic to playing the Hawgs which pisses them off even more.

is it really worth getting that mad over? Bama isn't our biggest rival because of Saban. (I'll give you a minute to jump all over that one) It's not because of him leaving LSU, its because we are 2-2 against him with alternating home losses. Every game since Saban has gotten there has had some kind of championship implication. Is Ole Miss really our #1 rival, really? the team that hasn't been a player in the SEC since the 60s should matter to us more than a perennial national championship contender? Ok. Also...yeah, we hate USC, but they don't play us. they can steal our championships, that's cool, but its not like we have a tradition of playing them. And i went up to Auburn this year, they don't hate us, they kind of respect us just like we do with them. I didn't have a single heckler down there, these random fans actually invited me into their tailgate and talked sports with me. I almost died last year in Tuscaloosa, I mean literally almost died for doing the same things I did in auburn.

The series was 12-10-1 (Alabama) in the 23 years before Les arrived. That's not domination.

I'm glad you told me that, but i just never thought to look at it that way. That actually further proves my argument that we have a strong rivalry with Bama
