Sounds like my kind of place. Will we see any of y'all there? I'm thinking shots?

17-16 was a good bar the last time I was down... There will be a mob out so I would try to set up a tailgate on friday evening if possible!

Forgot to mention, we have 2 9x9 tents. Is that too much, or are we good? We have a lot of people with us (12-15) but I also don't want to intrude on space.

if you aren't gonna get there until later Friday, then it might be... I believe you can start setting up on campus at 5:00pm... the earlier you get there, the better off you're gonna be.

We're leaving Columbia around 2, hoping to beat ATL traffic (at least most of it) and arrive around 7. We'll probably walk straight across the street to the library (been told it's a solid spot) and set up there. Think we'll have luck?

I think you will get a spot if you tailgate all the way over by the library.

How far is the library from the hotel?

I stayed at Days Inn last weekend. You get one parking spot with your room. I'd suggest parking on Friday night and not moving your car until Sunday. $40 for an additional spot there if you have two cars or want to buy a parking spot for someone else coming to the game.
Friday Night: Walk downtown. There are several restaurants there. As for bars, 17-16 and Sky Bar. Advice, go to sky bar early, get a wrist band or stamp, then go to 17-16. Go to Sky Bar later, and you should be able to skip the line if you have your stamp/wristband. As an alternate, The Vault, but that place isn't what it used to be (IMO).
Saturday: If you need an official tailgating spot, likely find one near the library (as was mentioned earlier), but might be easier to just walk around with a cooler. Walk to the Campus Green area (near stadium) where there will be tons of people tailgating. Amphitheater is close by (tons of students). Then just walk around the stadium. If you want to see Tiger Walk, it is 2 hours before kick off (4:45 pm (Central)) on Donahue (head towards south endzone). Also, get in the stadium early to see the eagle fly (I can't remember how early it is, maybe 25 min to kickoff but not sure).
Sunday: Go eat lunch at Amsterdams. On Gay St, within walking distance of your hotel (walk out the back of the parking lot of the hotel to the street (Gay St.) and take a right, and walk to the next block (through light at Samford), it will be on your right). I'd recommend it for dinner on Friday night, but it will be packed then (2 hour wait). Show up at 11 am on Sunday when it opens and you should get a table immediately (though there will be a line of people waiting already). Get the crabcake and avacado sandwich. Also, if you don't get there right at 11 am (or want to wait), they have a great bloody mary bar that starts at noon.

As far as the ladies go, you won't need help locating them on campus and around town....

my wife and i went back to auburn for the arky state game (we graduated a couple years ago)... she made the comment that there weren't as many good looking girls as when we were in school... I sorta agree with her.... not sure why(increase in quality of students maybe?) but good luck with the hotties...

I live in Atl...leave earlier. Leave at noon.
Leaving at 2 gets you in ATL at 4-5...on a Friday.

We can't because some of our crowd won't be off work until 1:30, otherwise I definitely would be. Hopefully it's not too bad. Is there a better route that just taking I-20 straight through? That's what we usually do.
Thanks for the good point though

Leave at 1:30 then. No, the best way for you is to take 20 to 285 on the WEST side, not the east side. Then get on 285 heading south, Exit on 85 towards Montgomery.
