I'm tired of Gus trying to run his offense with Jeremy Johnson or Sean White.

That 2013 offense was a joy to watch though. We just need a QB that can run it.

It was clicking along ok without the injuries, but I do agree with you. I loved that offense with Marshall!

Not tired of the spread. We've lead the SEC in rushing almost every year with Gus, more 1,000 yard rushers than anyone else, 2 NC appearances, 2 SECC, etc. And with better defenses, we'd won a lot more.

What I am tired of is the shitty QB play, and that goes back to recruiting. And Lashlee is the QB coach that recruits the QBs. It's time for his arse to go and get an OC to bring new wrinkles into Gus' offense.

Agreed. I love the system. I hate the situation we're in with QBs. Lashee recruited JF3 based on ONE game at a JR college. If we could get a real QB coach/recruiter the system is fine. Although I will say this... I've wanted Petrino since Tubs left and I'd still take him in a heart beat. Gus may turn out fine in long term with more experience but I still rather have Petrino.

I get that there's a running joke about the NC back in 1980

Auburn went 53 years between titles (if you even want to count the '57 year they were on probation): 1957-2010

Texas went 35 years: 1970-2005

Florida went almost 100 years not winning their first til 1996

Ohio State went 34 years: 1968-2002

LSU went 45 years: 1958-2003

Tennessee went 47 years: 1951-1998

People act like a big program like UGA going through this drought is unprecedented or some major statistical anomaly. Many big programs have gone through longer than us and nobody seems to care about that.

Not really.

Tired of not developing players consistently to meet their talent.

Tired of playing walkon and senior WR ahead of future NFL talent.

Tired of not identifying what we do best during spring and summer, then sputtering out of the gate. Even 2010 and 2013 had 4 or 5 games where we finally figured out who could execute what in game.

Tired of losing to UGA.

Tired of recruiting QBs who are not adequate size or mobile enough to take the beating this league delivers.

Tired of good practices and shorting the bed.

Tired.

Calling Gus' O a spread is fundamentally lacking in understanding the game of football. We don't really go fast much which was the hallmark of his O in the early days.

The biggest issue I see with his offense is the desire to go fast simplifies the route tree for passing. If you aren't gashing teams with the run it makes it hard to complete a pass.

I wouldn't trade our offense for any team when the parts are there to run it.

Was listening to the game on radio last week. Auburn went 3-Out faster than radio commercial one time.

Y'all were one of the first traditional SEC powers to become a primarily spread attack when Chizik took over. Before, y'all were a pro-style 1-back/I formation team. Do you want to go back to that style or do you prefer being a spread program?

I know wins ultimately dictate everything, but as a Georgia fan whose team's offensive style hasn't changed since the 60s I'm interested what your feelings on it are.

We are still that same type of team. We just run it from Shotgun. It's worked fine when we have a healthy, capable QB so no. AU's problem isn't scheme. Right now it's health. But our bigger issue is Gus's inability to evaluate talent. Took him a quarter of the season to see what he had with Cam & Nick Marshall. Took a few games to realize what he had in Pettway. He still hasn't let guys that have flashed talent at WR in NCM & KD have more chances. AU obviously has issues but scheme isn't it

Against the worst defenses in the league yes, but we aren't going to be championship caliber running this offense without a Qb that can run. It's just a fact, dwi.

We run an off set I formation out of the Shotgun. There is nothing spread about our offense at all. If anything we could use some more spread concepts but that's just not what Gus is about. On one hand I love that we have our OL with splits about 6 inches apart and run straight power right over our OGs and OC 75% of the time. It's beautiful to watch make teams stop us from running the ball and realizing very quickly they can't do it. It's equally frustrating to see us sputter against teams that can match our talent and shrink the field on us because we can't spread them out our even have the concepts to combat the other team stopping our run game.
