lol Malzahn has already accomplished more than Sumlin could ever dream of, and you (and kentucky) were one of our 2 SEC wins this past year

quote:1) It has been discussed numerously on this forum and throughout the region how Florida has had great talent for decades, but was known for being a party school ( coach Bryant even said it back in the 60s).
Are you denying that? The state of Florida grew exponentially in population around that time. Florida was an also ran in the SEC before the 80's. Miami and FSU were nothing before the 80's and became national powers in that time. These are facts. Bowden took over in 76. Do you honestly think that didn't help and it's just a coincidence? You're an idiot
2) Miami's rise to the elite has also been documented several times on TV (Coach Schnellenberger was responsible for it).
3) Read the following to realize how stupid your post actually is:
"With the arrival of head coach Bill Peterson in 1960, the Seminoles began their move to national prominence. Under Peterson's direction, the Seminoles beat the Florida Gators for the first time in 1964 and earned their first major bowl bid. Peterson also led the Seminoles to their first ever top ten ranking. During his tenure as head coach, Peterson also gave a young assistant by the name of Bobby Bowden his first major college coaching opportunity.[11]
Although not widely known, the Seminoles achieved their first ever number one ranking during this period. In October, 1964, the Dunkel College Football Index, a popular power index of that era, placed the Seminoles at the top of their poll after a stunning 48–6 win over highly ranked Kentucky (AP #5, Dunkel #3). Peterson would be named UPI national coach of the week after this program changing victory.[12][13] In an era of very few bowl games, Peterson's innovative offensive system helped earn the Seminoles four bowl bids from 1964 through 1968. During this time, only Alabama and Mississippi appeared in more bowl games than did Peterson's Seminoles"....you call that NOTHING?
I warned you to shut the frick up because you were just showing your ignorance, but you didn't. Good job!!..it's totally on display.

Given the circumstances his struggles were understandable. Bama was half a step away from the death penalty. I could be wrong because I don't follow Bama closely and I was 15 when Shula's tenure ended, butI don't recall him losing games due to bad coaching decisions and I thought the 10-2 season showed promise that he could do well.
Throughout Shula's entire tenure as coach at Alabama, he NEVER won a game that he was trailing in going into the 4th quarter...poor coaching, poor conditioning, poor team mentality, etc. Please just stop posting on this thread! I'm even getting embarrassed for you!

shite this stupid doesn't come along everyday. A couple of dumb-arse Alabama(actually Louisiana) kids get caught smoking dope while packing, and it takes over for a couple of days. Hell, an entire university does something as stupid and it should take front and center for a while, too!

"Coach gets extension 4 years out"
10+ pages, never change sec rant.
I am just as guilty of extending a shite thread before though, as are most on here

except pretty much every coach in america has 4 years on their contract. It's a pretty simple concept regarding future for recruits. The money was negligible.

Can you name me another coach that finished last in their division, anywhere that got an extension...I'll wait.

Coach that appeared to be on the hot seat got an extension. That is fairly newsworthy in the off-season at this point.

You just gave another $2MM and an extension to a coach who has finished last in his division with a losing record in the SEC. They must be worried about recruiting if that is the case.

Can you name another coach who has less than 4 years on their contract?

Who do you see us losing too? Realistically of course...
Honestly...and no trolling...
Clemson
LSU
Ole Miss
Georgia
Alabama
And:
Texas A&M
Mississippi State
Arkansas
could go either way. I THINK you will be beat State and Arkansas. I can see a scenario in which you lose 6 games and go 6-6.

Even if it is, that is getting extended after this year. They can never get rid of Les

So now we are going from certainty to guessing? If Miles flops this year his contract won't get extended. however, the question was asked to name one coach whose contract is less than 4 years. I gave one, I THINK> (I am honestly not sure because they have been dickering around with Miles contract the last few years.) I am not trolling. A question was asked and I gave an answer.
