Meh. We are around 20th in average recruit ranking and that number is going to get better soon when we add Darrius Clemons. I feel much better about recruiting now compared to a month ago.

Will be in top 20 before it's over. We did ok with average talent and very little development from a dysfunctional coaching staff. That along with a S&C Program built for the HUNH, that Gus didn't run for 5 years. Still hard to believe he was 2-2 against Saban the last 4 years under those circumstances. It is not just recruiting, but thanks for your interest.
Gus played to his defense. They were brutal my friend on that side of the ball. In essence, it was "THE" reason he got that crazy extension. Even in 2019, Kevin Steel broke out some hybrid 3-1-7, and if not for a true freshman playing QB could have beaten LSU in Baton Rouge. The barn was as good as any team in the SEC scheming spread teams. I don't get where people think Gus was beating good teams with smoke and mirrors.

Have yet to see an actual Auburn fan post a recruiting update.

What fricking games did you watch? 2017 was they only game where the D won the game. Steele still thinks his safety can play one on one with Waddle. No, that was a fricked up Staff, yet they still won games.

I said Gus played to his defense. And yes, the 2017 contract extension came directly from beating #1 Georgia and #1 BAMA. He had a strong running game and a great defensive presence that season. Kevin Steele kept Gus employed longer with his style and guys on the defensive side than the HUNH spread would have ever accomplished on the Plains had he stuck to it.

Absolutely.

Agree with that as well

That year yes. Every other year he won despite Kevin Steele. The problem with the HUNH is you have to condition for it. Gus did but stopped running it. It left AU undersized and understrength. If Gus would have been able to develop QBs and a real passing game, he would still be at AU with an even bigger contract. He could never adjust and that is why he is at UCF. He will be successful there because the competition will not expose his weaknesses as easily.

Look at what he did against decent Offenses. Like I said, the SEC was devoid of good QBs during that time. Steele made his money of Brown and Davidson (Boom's recruits), last year we saw the effects of those graduations.

It is no secret that you troll men's restrooms at I-10 Rest Areas. Just ask the local police.

One thing that frustrated me about Kevin Steele’s defense, at least last year, was that we could not for the love of God get off the field on third and long. For whatever reason we would collapse on downs that we were seemingly in a position to Win on. Used to drive me insane

He lived off Brown and Davidson the previous 4 years. His scheme was destine for failure when they graduated.
