Wilson was 100% a greyshirt. Either way, like I posted several times yesterday, if my kid was told by Saban that he could commit, but might have to take a greyshirt if the numbers don't work out, my kid would be saying thanks but no thanks. All a greyshirt does is save face for a program that does not want you anymore. The kids who accept them must either love Alabama (JPW) or their parents and coaches are too stupid to guide them in a different direction.

Vlachos was a redshirt

Wilson can't tell if redshirt or grey
Chapman was a redshirt
Wilson never redshirted. He played as freshman, backing up Brodie Croyle.

It could also have a huge impact on the field, if many of those don't develop into good players. Chiz won't be able to process out 43% of his players in 2 yrs anymore either.
You should just go ahead and put something like this in your sig. I have a feeling you are going to be trolling with this for a long time this off season

The thing is I dont believe Saban is telling them until late in the game. This is really where the recruits and parents should know better. They have several chances to keep their options open and visit other schools. Thats why I kind of feel sorry and I also dont.
Simple fact is recruitment is a high profile sales enviroment, and these kids are not mature enough to handle it in their own best interest so the moral blame is placed upon the coaches even though they are really only doing their job. Their Job is dictated by the AD and the schools stance on production

Both signed with SEC schools. All scholarships are for one year. You can say they're for TWELVE years, but it doesn't make it so.

After already jerking an offer within the last month to Georgia running back Justin Taylor -- who ended up signing with Kentucky on Wednesday -- Alabama yanked a scholarship offer from Philon within the last week, and possibly as late as Wednesday morning.
So who did bama give the 2 offers to that were reserved for Taylor and Philon?

Maybe Auburn should take a look at the glaring number of kids entering the family on signing days of late who are not leaving with a degree from Auburn.

Yeah. UAT is the Harvard of the south.....
This is Saban's what? 6th recruiting class at Bama? How many times has he signed under (25)? Has he ever released who is on scholarship and who is not?

For years, Saban has treated college football like a cutthroat business. He's skirted recruiting rules, danced around scholarship limitations and been surrounded by more career ending injuries to third-string players than any coach in the history of organized athletics.
Sad, but true.

Vlachos greyshirted, but also redshirted his first season at bama. I did a quick Google search and found an old thread talking about him accepting a greyshirt.

He accepted a greyshirt offer from Shula, but when Saban got there he added Vlachos to the 2007 class.
That bastard Saban...

You seem to be confused. I never stated that Bama has a high graduation rate. I stated that Auburn does not. I am also not accusing Auburn of screwing over kids on signing day. You are.

Darius Philon is a POS. He decommitted from Auburn and trusted Saban. Now his arse is having to go to a school 12 hours away. He got served!
