yes yes yes the Auburn blue blood joke triggered another person
what I love is the debate about UConn and when a recently good team establishes BLUE BLOOD status
like UConn won it's first title in 1999 and has won 6 overall
like no one on planet Earth would say they are more established than Kentucky but Kentucky only has the 2 more titles with 8 overall
do we then go to number of final fours? how much winning does a team have to do and for how long do they have to do it to be the blue blood?

Yeah ideally you go out and get best candidate. Stephen might be a great HC someday but it’s just an unknown. Knowing how AU operates, it’ll likely be Stephen.

There are no club rules but, for me, a blue blood has to have had much success over the history of their program.

A great basketball movie would be Auburn from 2010-2014 with barbee to current day. I’m not sure any coach in the Big 3 of college sports history has done what Pearl and his staff have done both in Ws and the overall culture of the fan base.
Obviously the only thing he’s yet to accomplish is a National Championship.

Tennessee is no Bama or Georgia but their program sells itself. They should always recruit well and mostly did so even under the exile years.
They are a program that should recruit well but they’re still not a Blue Blood.
UGA isn’t a blue blood either, but it’s an elite program

UConn doesn't get the credit they deserve. They've been more successful than any basketball program over the past 25 years with 3 different coaches.

Georgia is supposed to be bad at basketball but Auburn could barely beat us
