If Auburn beats Alabama and the other contenders (OK and Oregon) both lose again, it’s certainly possible.

Inaccurate just like Nix. His problem isn't throwing a lot of interceptions, it's that he only completes 56-57% of them and less in the two losses. If he was an overall 65% passer Auburn would be undefeated, hell maybe even just 60%. Sadly, he didn't and isn't.

There needs to be some sort of chaos for a 2 loss team to get in. They aren’t getting in over a 1 loss conference champion (Oregon/Utah or Oklahoma)

I argued two years ago that a 3 loss Auburn deserved to be in. Their last two games before the SEC title game were two arse whippings of two teams in the playoff, and two of their three losses were to teams in the playoff. The other loss was a 4 point road loss to LSU.
