I wanted kiffin for some reason. But im happy with freeze now. He has made a lot of progress with the roster.

Deion is going to be a smashing success, or a dumpster fire. There will be no in between

Yeah I’m happy. I feel like HF will stay at AU for the long term to build a consistent winning team. I can’t say the same for Deion.

The end of last season is why I had my reservations about LK. He’s a poor man’s version on Lincoln Riley. If OM could field a defense they would be a very dangerous team

It's his constantly giving games away going for it on fourth and anywhere that would drive me crazy.

I mean he can go 8-4 this season and it will be a world difference

If he wins 8 games his first year there, I will be shocked. He won at JSU with 20-25 FBS players playing against FCS players, and not just FCS players, but HBCU level FCS players. Before that, he coached pee-wee football. This is one of those times where we can literally say, half the posters on this board could've coached the teams he has had and done just as good.

Last year, he coached a team that had a distinct advantage at 9 of 11 positions on the field at any given time. We will see how well his coaching ability transfers when that talent disparity is reversed on the field this season.

Freeze needed Auburn - Auburn needed Freeze. They are a match made in Heaven and Freeze is the perfect coach to minster and offer his personal testimony of the power of the Lord's forgiveness and mercy.

Auburn needed a man that would work tirelessly, who understood the SEC and knew the importance of recruiting. Auburn is about Family, community closeness, bonding and faith. Freeze can sell that angle like few Head Coaches other than maybe Dabo Swinney.

Same here. I was on the Lane train until those couple of weeks leading up to the Egg Bowl. He was clearly distracted by other opportunities and he led us on longer than he should.
Freeze isn't as big of a name but he's a better fit long term.

Right as usual 41.

I know some will interpret that as a snarky response but it's genuine

I would take Freeze over Kiffin all day every day.

Auburn is a difficult school to describe to the outside world.

1. It’s a wonderful job because of the community and the family loyalty.
2. It’s a horrible job because of the built in advantages of every one of our rivals (LSU, Ga, Bama, Fla, Tenn). All of them are the state school with the most support.

For a person to WIN at Auburn - they have to work hard. Really hard. The Auburn community will see their hard work, love them for it, and rally around them with every possible level of support (financial, emotional, etc).

Short answer?
Be humble and work hard and you will be loved and succeed at Auburn. (Pat Dye, Sonny Smith, Pearl, Tubs)

Be arrogant and lazy and you will fail at Auburn. (Terry Bowden, Tony Barbee, Harsin).

Lane Kiffin and Deon are both clearly in the second group and would have failed at Auburn.

I will let you guys decide which group Hugh Freeze falls into.

And if he fails, it will never be his fault. It will get bloody as he will smear them in the press if they ever try and fire him. He will try and take the AD and anyone else within shouting range down with him.

Well, he did dump two well deserved buckets of ice water on Tim McCarver

Yet another reason I am glad we didn't hire Sandres. This is a HC of a P5 program?

Yes. The more he runs his mouth the last few days, the more he tweets with his thug looking vocabulary, he better fricking win. And he may well win big. But he has certainly set the stage for making a giant fool of himself if he doesn't
