What about the reports about of staff changes having to be cost neutral? Typical message board BS?

Saban tried to hire him last year. Bama really should change their mascot. Cause if an elephant never forgets, you guys sure do forget a lot.

So Auburn’s Offensive minded coach needs Hugh Freeze to be his OC ? Why is Gus even at Auburn if he needs a top OC to have a good offense? This seems like a joke .

Have you seen his offense this year? Probably not since it's at the bottom of the NCAA rankings.

No, not BS. Tate says admins will cover 1 year and Gus comes out of pocket on anything beyond that.

The only reason Auburn wants Freeze is because he beat Alabama 2 out of 5 times. Same reason they hired Gus: they beat Alabama in 2010. Their world revolves around Tuscaloosa.

He's a good offensive mind and a friend of Malzahn's. That's why we want him. Oh and we also want to be able to outscore teams like Tennessee and LSU.

What about him? You got the smoking gun that the NCAA and FBI didn't find, Danny?

Freeze fits the Auburn mold perfectly. I hope he goes there.

First off- I thought Hugh was ok after midnight a week ago or something around then?

Secondly- the issue yesterday was that Gus couldn't hire Hugh because Hugh wouldn't take a 1 year contract and that was all tptb at Auburn would allow Gus to hire an assistant for?

A different day, a different story.

I think Freeze and Sexton are putting a lot of this stuff out there because he really wants another job. They're the same type of rumors we've heard with minor differences.

For example, we never heard Sankey was a problem (quite the opposite) but we did hear Freeze was in hand but some unnamed power was holding it up. When our mod was asked who this person was he admitted he had no clue and that all he knew was some power that be was at fault.

TBH, I think there may be more in Freeze's past than is publicly known and that's why he doesn't have a job yet. Nothing to do with anyone's AD or Sankey, just there's more there that has schools a bit spooked.

He would be a solid hire but if I'm Freeze, why do I want to go and work for a lame duck? Maybe they're the only school pushing back against the league office to try to get him on.

I know Alabama was strongly urged not to hire him last year and I think the same thing has been happening this year.

It's funny that anyone thinks this will matter. When Freeze isn't breaking all the rules, how good is he?

In fairness, he was cheating to get talent to go to Ole Miss. his coaching seemed fine. Auburn shouldn't have a talent problem.

Maybe. maybe not. Time will tell.

Supposedly he's asking for a 3 year deal, so the lame duck really doesn't matter. he may even be able to parlay that into an interim HC tag when they finally can Gus.

Will Malhzahn let him run his offense? Does Auburn have the QB to run Freeze's offense?
