Nick Marshall's 45 yard touchdown run?
Yeah, that's right. Auburn relied on huge plays yet again because they can't just drive down the field and score in the red zone consistently. In 2009, two huge plays are the only reason Auburn was in the game. I've already made a thread regarding the influence of sloppy play in the 2009 and 2010 Iron Bowls and don't feel like reposting that argument here.

The amazing thing about AU last year was the fact they ran for over 300 yards per game without much of a passing game. Wonder what the offense will be like when Nick Marshall improves his passing game.

Coates and Williams out wide should really help. Should be fun to watch.

I agree, Auburn had several times when we could have put it away but didnt maintain discipline or attention to detail. Our failed mistakes in that game, kept bama in it

I will not go back and forth in a homer argument.
If Auburn is so great, then they wouldn't have needed to tie the game and take the lead within the final minute of the game on two ridiculous plays. Auburn executed better than Alabama both times but had nothing to do with Alabama's mistakes.

Uhhh, you started the IF game by talking about the UGA game.

Don't get all pissy when someone throws it back in your face.

Did you watch Auburn football this year or are you just making the typical generalizations

Another thing that doesnt matter. A TD counts the same if it comes on a long drive or a big play.

Or if AU had not gone in a shell in the fourh quarter after being up 20 points.

Is that what really happened? Hmm, my Auburn friend told me that Georgia started their comeback by exploiting Auburn's weakness, slant routes. Auburn is fortunate they didn't face a full strength, healthy Georgia. If both teams were healthy and at full strength in that game, I think Auburn loses.

Nobody is arguing that Auburn is "so great". You seem to be trying to come up with excuses as to why Alabama lost as if they didn't deserve to lose. Alabama deserved to lose the game, they didn't execute when they should have and Auburn took advantage of them.

By the same token, Auburn deserved to lose the BCS game. Had their chance, but blew it. It's how football goes.

Bama was careless and most of us wouldve had our money on them in OT

Oh clearly...Auburn had all the momentum, Bama couldn't move the ball when not on a 99 yard touchdown pass, Bama had a ruined kicker that had completely lost his mechanics and mojo, and the only thing Auburn's defense DOES do consistently is red zone D...yes clearly, most of us wouldve had on money on Bama in OT

Excuse me? Auburn forced Cyrus Jones and Clinton-Dix to leave Coates uncovered? Auburn forced Alabama players to watch Griffith's field goal before fanning out and executing proper kick return coverage? I didn't think so.

Yes, that is the way the play is designed. Gus is smarter than your players AND your coach
