That was the worst basketball game I've been to in which we won. Hopefully an emotional win like that will give us some extra energy heading into our last three games. We were looking past Auburn and it almost cost us. Even Green admitted we were looking ahead

well we dont play any opponents the rest of the way that are "look aheadable"...we can let that slide this once....but we better prove that was the excuse. Because if we play like that in oxford we will get bombed. But truthfully that was the first game like that we have played in a long while. Even in the two losses we played decent. Heck i thought we played great against vandy

Bad team or not for Auburn, but Alabama shot 23% from the field, making 11 FGs, and still won. I don't care how bad the team you're facing is, if you can do that, more power to you. Alabama did what it had to do. I just amazed at all the Auburn fans crawling out of the woodwork over this. I didn't think you guys gave a shite about basketball.

Also, any committee members that watched that game, as opposed to just looking at the box score, will find it hard to put Bama in the tourney without Bama being very impressive down the stretch and winning a couple of SEC tourny games.
Only saw a minute or two of the game. But to me the larger issue for bama is not a sub-par game against Auburn... it's how shitty they were in out of conference games

yeah it was awful. but you can't change the past so the issue now is actually if Alabama can make up for it enough to keep the committee from talking about how awful it was.

Yeah, that elite 8 team was whaling on other teams during the 03-04 season.

I didn't think you guys gave a shite about basketball.
With the product that Lebo put on the court, it was hard to give a shite about BB. With the $90 mil arena and TB, there is hope. Give TB some time and he will get the job done, in the meantime it is going to be painful.

The talent is about equal, and this team defends waaaay better than the elite 8 team.

I blame the refs for the way both teams played. They called so many touch fouls that it was impossible for either team to get into the game. I can't complain to much about the officiating though because the refs making it such a rythmless ugly basketball game probably kept it closer than what it should have been. After sleeping on it for a night I'm convinced that they called it so close because they feared the tree thing might have spilled over into the basketball game. They did everything in their power to keep that game from getting out of hand.

Pettway has exp. on Releford, that's it.
Rambo was a foul machine, and I don't even remember lucky.

Elite 8 team had a very good mix of talent along with all the intangibles,
I'd take 04' team over this years version in a heartbeat.
Shelton,Davidson,Pettway, Chuck Davis, Winston, Thomas
So did every team they played. UCONN was fastest and quickest team I have ever seen play.

My guess is either you are too yonug to remember the 04 team well enough or you are just paying more attention this year and getting caught up in the excitement of being decent when you thought you were going to suck.
The '04 team was better. I have no dog in the fight, but I know enough about basketball to say that with a high degree of confidence.
The '04 team had 3 quality bigs, some guys that could shoot and a couple of talented/athletic slashers. This team doesn't have that.
