Just move Alabama & Auburn to the east and replace them with whatever from the east so we can get rid of the stupid cross permanent rivals shite and have a better schedule

Does this look balanced to you?
East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
West
Arkansas
Kentucky
LSU
Mizz.
Miss.
MSU
TA&M
Hell, Kentucky/Miss./MSU gives y'all 3 W's before the season starts.

Not balance, I am with you there but this cross permanent rivals thing is ridiculous, just because Alabama & Auburn want to play Tennessee & Georgia every year, every team from the east or the west has to go through six years to play every team from the other division once

frick it, I say we do it. Easier path to the SECCG every year. And while were at it we need to add GT and Clemson to our nonconference schedule every year to preserve those rivalries, since this is about rivalries and all.
Bama
UGA
Florida
Tenn
Vandy
KY
USC
G-Tech
Clemson
State*
That's ten games right there. Rotate a team from the West and throw in a cupcake, and there you have it. Year after year of the same fun and exciting games.
I miss those years of 5-6 SEC games, when you could schedule cross-conference games more. Every year was a much different schedule year-to-year than we have now.
*Gotta throw State in there, 2nd most played for AU, and where would LSU, Bama and Auburn be without State (against whom State is 76-256-9, 23.5%)?

Careful, you're coming across as a whiny LSU fan...

Not really, just want to be able to play each other more often not every six years...

That's what a lot of LSU fans want too, but you can't hear it over the derision in here.

Could have done that with the 9 game schedule. Also, making 1 MANDATORY P5 game for #10 would put everybody in the same boat (as in UGA/UF/USC/UK's in-state ACC rivalry).
To take it a step further, if your division has 5 H games that year, you visit the team for Game #10. Your division has 4 H games, you host the team for Game #10. Voila - everybody has 5H/5A setup.

You should have thought of that before you joined a 14 team conference.
The only East v West game that matters is in Atlanta every December.
If you can ever make that game, you'll be playing everyone that you need to.

We will do away with divisions at some point. Think Basketball which will have 3 permanent (TBD) and you play the other 10 for a 16 game schedule.
Auburn could then have UF, UGA and Bama. rotate the other 10 (play 5 per year).
Bama would have UT, Auburn, LSU.
LSU would have Bama, ole Miss, TSMU

This.
The question is if the NCAA will allow the demolition of divisions prior to going to 16 teams or after.

HOW? Divisions lets you play the same opponents as 6 other teams thereby making it EASIER to rank yourselves accordingly. You do away with divsions, you're creating more headaches as to how to rank everybody. & you think people are bitching about schedules NOW.....

Why would UGA be FOR it? If anything, we'ld be on the fence (if had to make a decision).
Because it would force the rest of division to play a tougher opponent that they already play. The rest of the division would trade Mizzu for Auburn, while UGA would trade Mizzu for Ole Miss, MSU and Ark half the time.

Nothing that 9 conference games won't cure.

The thing about 16 would create pod scheduling - which would be an easier task than what we currently have. Also, it would allow you to rotate the setup: AB/CD, AC/BD, AD/BC. NCAA requires you to have divisions, but NOTHING about those divisions remaining the same members yearly.

No system will eliminate crying.
Rotating teams quicker would make the sobbing seem more pointless (why would South Carolina cry about playing LSU when UGA would have them on the schedule next year).
The issue isn't divisions versus non-divisions.
The issue is maintaining the 2 or 3 games that a school cares about and rotating the rest of the games quicker (ie. UGA cares about Florida and Auburn. I could care less how many times we play Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, etc..)

Okay, let me propose this to you:
Florida goes 4-0 against Vandy, Kentucky, Miss., & MSU. UGA goes 4-0 against Alabama, Auburn, SC, & Tennessee. Who gets the nod over whom?
