It is possible. Unlikely, but possible.

The Longhorns could actually wind up in the BCS, as crazy as that sounds. Here's how.

- No. 15 Oregon State, No. 16 UCLA and No. 17 Kent State all lost in front of No. 18 Texas.
- No. 12 Nebraska is getting clobbered right now.
- If Texas jumps all those teams, it's at No. 14 in the BCS and in the at-large pool.

Our 247 mod posted this a little earlier.

Meh. Used to them being over ranked. They're playing decent right now, but would get beat in a BCS game

Won't happen. They won't jump K-State and OU...mathematically possible...realistically impossible.

I understand that, but you guys have looked 10x better, and are ranked ahead of them, but they could still make it.

Not at all.

Best team in the Big 12 wouldn't finish in top 4 of the SEC.

We are 10-2 and should finish 11-2. That's a great year.

this doesn't matter at all. If they beat KSU then OU is the Big 12 auto-bid. The 2nd slot is up to the bowls provided that team is in top 14 and a bowl could easily select them over KSU because no one cares about KSU.

But I actually think Neb losing opens up a chance for 21 NIU or 20 Boise to get to top 16. NIU especially should get a nice computer bump. 12 Neb, 16 UCLA and 17 Kent State all lost. If either jumps idle 18 Michigan they are there. If Texas loses, they are there. OU probably needs Texas to win just to go to a BCS

No meltdown. While mathematically possible, why would a BCS bowl take them unless there was no other choice?
