They're posing as nothing but members of the Corps of Cadets
Also many people mistakenly assume the corps of cadets is an official military officer pipeline which it isn't. Simply a frat that dresses up in old military uniforms.

That's simply not true. All Corps members are in ROTC their first 2 years. After their Sophomore year they have the option to pursue a contract in the military. A little over 40% end up going in the service as officers. Many who don't simply don't qualify for some reason such as medical. Many others simply decide they don't want to go in the military after all and remain in the Corps for their Jr and Sr years.
I was one of those. I grew up a military brat and joined the Corps originally intending to go in the Air Force. As my Sophomore year came along the Gulf War ended and the military did massive cutbacks. I could still get a contract but my graduation date was going to be delayed by doing so and I was going to have to wait almost a year after graduation to be activated, where I was told I would likely end up sitting in a missile silo in North Dakota or something similar. I passed as did many of my other buddies. 4 of the 10 guys that made it through all 4 years (we started with 21) in my outfit went in the service. At least 3 more likely would have taken contracts if they could have gotten pilot slots but at that time they reduced the number of pilot slots at A&M from 21 the previous year to 2 (one of my buddies got one of those two). 3 Retired recently after putting in their 20 as Lt Colonels and one is a Full Colonel tracking toward making General. Of the 6 who didn't take a contract all have been very successful.
I also joined a Frat as a Junior just to see what it was all about and have some more diverse college experiences. It's laughable to call the Corps a "frat that dresses up in military uniforms".

Before this becomes a "gay" thread, let me tell everybody that the Corps of Cadets produces more officers than any school that isn't a service academy. They don't just "play" Army.
They play Army. Taking on unarmed cheerleaders

At this pont, you are nothing but a douchebag.
Why do you care if TAMU at one time was exactly like The Citadel or VMI? Why do you care that members of the Corps can either take commissions or not?
