They are the standard setter with 26, followed by UGA and TENN with 13 and LSU with 11. So asterisks next to "every Bama" Championship is a reach. In the 2004 season Auburn went undefeated. USC and Oklahoma were also undefeated. Both played a weaker schedule than Auburn so Auburn, by rights, is a co-winner, at a minimum.
Auburn is located in Alabama. Shouldn't Alabama also get credit for the 2004 championship even though they sucked that year?

Thanks for your concerns. We Bama fans and the SEC will struggle on somehow. BTW, do we get to asterisk a couple of those DuBose and Shula years when the SEC obviously left us to fend for ourselves. But frankly 99% of my Bama friends and relatives don't give a rat's arse. And they continue to party on just like they won them fair and square. So am I supposed to tell them to tone down the good times because it is damaging to the quality of life for an LSU fan? I want to do the right thing here.
