No they are not. Explain your rationale about who has been harmed and what the potential damages are.

Pay cut, his buyout extended but the UofAs buyout requirement lessened, 2 game suspension and some other controls put in place to keep him in line.

Agreed. The damage has been done. If he comes back and we win big next year (same level or better than 2011) all the Media will talk about is Harleygate. Little or nothing positive will be written or said about the Team. If he is shown the door those same reporters, as well as fans of other teams, will talk out of one side of their mouths about what a standup move the Arkansas Administration made while laughing if we get thumped by one team after the next.

Said it before and I'll say it again..there will be no lawsuits:

"In its 1990 policy statement, the EEOC observed that, although isolated instances of sexual favoritism in the workplace do not violate
Title VII,
widespread sexual favoritism may create a hostile work environment in
violation of Title VII by sending the demeaning message that managers view
female employees as “ ‘sexual playthings’ ” or that “the way for women to get
ahead in the workplace is by engaging in sexual conduct.”

Going forward, the UofA if they keep him after all this. Going back, anyone and everyone who worked for the UofA over the past years within whatever window the statute of limitations will allow, that were punished/disciplined/terminated for transgressions less serious than all of this brought on by Petrino.
UofA is in an absolute no win situation. Don't know what the AD will do but the President/Chancellor or whatever you call him/her has to make the right decision here. I would think that integrity would have to win out over winning a few ballgames, but who knows......

It will not open a class action lawsuit or open some similar pandora's box. JMHO.

Don't think so either. Bunch of individual ones - book it!

That's fine. We can agree to disagree. Anyone that brings an individual lawsuit has to do so on his or her own merits, not always an easy standard. Lord knows, a lawsuit can be filed at almost anytime for almost anything.

Individual suits are bound to have precedent where a state employee was terminated for this kind of behavior. That is the pandora's box you don't think will be opened

So says the Kentucky Wildcat fan who hired a coach with a questionable past and who has had to give back all final four appearances won.

No one is being terminated here.

I know, you are stating that anyone let go for this particular situation can have a claim. So what? The state rarely fires people anyway. They can punish those who lie to their supervisors (which is the only issue here since BP didn't hire the girl to work for him, nor has she ever worked for him) by suspending them and cutting a large portion of their pay.

I think a lot of people don't have the correct facts in this particular instance.

Change the subject if you must....the only drive stronger than Petrino's urge for strange is a wronged former state employee's urge for settlement cash....

This one is bigger than wins and losses now....

Deny deflect head in the sand.

It's been a while. I can't remember if that's the order of the routine.
