This is the kind of stuff that is horrible for college football. If this happened back in Jan then why is it an issue right now? The NCAA gets played. They should also name sources. Anyone can send the NCAA accusations. Are they supposed to investigate all of them? Unless the guy has proof like a check that he gave JFF money this shouldn't even be a story. Are they going to suspend him while they investigate?

Hmmm...seems someone might still be sportin' a little butthurt over the whole Cam Newton debacle.

Just a guess.

Due to NCAA investigation, the Las Vegas Hotel has taken Texas A&M games vs Bama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU & Missouri off the board.

Lol at Auburn and Mississippi State.

I woke up to this. My reaction was something close to this: LINK

This is significant because it means A&M doesn't believe he will be ruled ineligible, or at least doesn't know of any significant evidence that would lead to it. If they thought for sure he was going to be ruled ineligible, just allowing him to practice could bring penalties from the NCAA.

Not that yanking him out of practices would seem like they're more or less pleading no contest or anything...

They just had a little report on ESPN. Apparently over 1000 autograghed items have appeared on EBay. 900+ were sequentially numbered suggesting an organized signing. I guess now the NCAA has to believe he was paid for all this. ('5 digits' was put out, but no solid proof).

That's the thing. Not only does the NCAA not need solid proof, you'd have to be a complete naif homer to believe that the NCAA would leak all their findings to the media.

So basically, all we know is what the media knows. Take that away, and all we're left with is "insider information" -- from guys like Billy Liucci, whose professional facade is obliterated upon being called 'aggy' on Twitter -- and speculation based on what Sumlin does from day to day.

I hope people on both sides of the "he gone," "nothing to see here" debate will understand when I say I'd prefer to wait and see what the final ruling will be.

I hope he stays eligible. Great player, fun to watch. We'll see how it goes. ATPB mini-me.

It would be nice if the OP used that space and the one below to give a timeline of established facts and the serious allegations. Just some brief bullet points with sources. No one is going to read umpteen pages.

Roger...are you listening?

I'm just checking in to say that this guy has to be the dumbest person to ever attend a college. It's one stupid move after another with him.

That said, I hope he's on the field Sept 14.

I want Manziel to play on 9/14, because I really believe that Alabama will crush him.

But I won't be disappointed if he's not.

Assuming he's guilty of everything, which is what we like to do here in the good ole US of A - build em up and then tear em down - what exactly do you think HE'S THINKING about his future options?? In other words, this seems so friggin wreckless and brazen that only someone who is supremely confident in his NFL prospects would even think about doing some stupid arse shite like this.

Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense at all. The risk so far outweighs the reward that he's either the dumbest MF'er ever, the cockiest most entitled MF'er ever, or he's completely sure that he's going to the draft next year and will be made a millionaire (personally) overnight.

I guess my point is I just don't think he's an NFL no brainer with his size. I see other QBs w/ similar style in the NFL having great success, I think his size and arm strength a far below avg.

Apparently, if worse comes to worse, he is not eligible for supplemental draft and would have to wait a year for NFL.

Who knows man. The most difficult thing now for A&M, is who gets the most practice snaps. Does Sumlin gamble with JFF, who may be suspended for 4 games, or season? Someone else, then nothing comes of this. This is a big decision for Coach.

We all know how fast the NCAA works, so in light of the talented backup transferring, who I thought was every bit as good as Johnny Football, it will probably be in A&M's best interest to just play Johnny and roll the dice because they're going to stink on ice without him.
