His lawyer has publicly stated that he doesn't see anything that causes him concern at this point. Signing autographs is not a problem. This isn't delusion, this is common sense.
You should place more weight on what the aTm attorneys are saying, because those are the folks whose advice aTm will follow. And they aren't saying shite, are they?
Signing autographs isn't a problem. Signing over a thousand in just two or three sittings, in a hotel room, for a complete stranger, is a huge fricking problem. That's what's common sense. When the NCAA asks Johnny fricking Hancock why he did it, how will he respond?

It's still pretty much just ESPN flinging allegations around and hoping something sticks.
Odd how every single "source" says they never say any money be exchange and non are willing to cooperate with the NCAA. It's almost like ESPN is afraid to stick their necks TOO far out...almost...

Well there's a big fricking surprise. A lawyer who say his client will be exonerated.
No shite. I'm a lawyer. We don't exactly go around talking about how bad our clients fricked up publicly.

And had just turned 18. Less than 4 years older

It's obviously so wrong at that age...but how many guys or girls end up being 5-10 years older than their spouse lol.

True. But nothing has been said by A&M lawyers or by the NCAA, so we really have no idea.
Aside from the ESPN TMZ piece, it is the same scanario as Lee, Bridgewater, and Clowney. Yes, we signed autographs, no we weren't paid. Unless the NCAA provides something that shows that this case is indeed different, then I can see him playing, just like the others.
If the NCAA has enough to prove he was paid and rules against him, then A&M would likely not play him.

So ESPN now tells us that Johnny Manziel, borderline drunk, college playboy, partying free spirit, spent an afternoon with the equivalent of the 3 reams of printer paper in front of him and writing on every page, finished that off, and then enjoyed it so much he did it all again like a week later?
Sounds like Johnny really spent the month of January being office-bitch doing the equivalent of stuffing envelopes all day for all these guys. He must have quite a work ethic.

"A Source"
Actually, Freistat isn't the source. Unlike the story you linked, the Manziel autographs have been independently authenticated, and those that did so stand by those authentications.

Imagine that....Aggies and others off topic again....this thread needs an anchor faaaaast, according to rule #6 in "anchored threads topic"
bring this back when anything develops.....people come to this thread for information about the allegations and investigation, not BS about another school, academics, other players, your IQ, or dipshit Klavin's biased uninformed posts

Authentications are bought like bananas -- by the bunch. You can have a sig authenticated by a firm, and then resend the exact same signature to the same firm with a rival authentication logo and they'll disapprove it.
This is a shady business with wannabe business moguls. And the ease of modern sig reproduction is the real story going on in the industry.

Johnny has indicated on numerous occasions and once again earlier today that he has never (and, to his knowledge, his parents, other relatives, and friends have never) been compensated through cash or other benefits or promises of deferred compensation for providing his autograph. Furthermore, other than to charitable and non-profit fundraisers, Johnny has indicated that he has never knowingly provided an autograph to someone who had indicated a plan to sell his autograph.

My point is that your link was supposed to discredit Freistat...but he isn't the source.
