I am mad. I'm mad that this little punk has the potential to ruin college football as we know it. One way or another this whole situation will result in some changes. Whether that's good or bad we will have to wait and see. 10-15 years ago JFF would have been suspended (at best) and possibly gone for good. Now everyone hires an attorney and the NCAA folds. Is that good for college sports?

yep, this certainly appears true

the relationship with Uncle Nate

The crux of the problem is the NCAA has zero reach on Uncle fricker. They can try to rule him an agent and say Manziel had contact with an agent but that's really reaching as they've known each other for years. Truthfully, this is a rather unenforceable rule. The only way to do so is like the Ohio State case where the tattoo artist traded but kept records and was indicted by the Feds.

Outside of something like that, it's really unlikely anything breaks in this case because the NCAA doesn't have the power to force the people who have info to roll (and every one of them has a personal interest in staying mum). And there is probably a certain part of the NCAA that doesn't want to get to the bottom of it because it's likely if they did get a big break, it would lead to serious blowback (O'Bannon, witchhunt through cfb, other legal issues)

The interview is to re-iterate that Johnny did not receive payment for autographs. The lawyer stated they have not seen any evidence of Johnny accepting payment for autographs.

What about Nate Fitch? Nate Fitch may have requested payment for autographs. We don't know if he did or not. Depends on you believe the brokers story without any evidence. Nate Fitch could have acted alone without Johnny's knowledge.

Why would we be scared? We kicked your a$$ at your house last year. We'll kick it even harder this year at our house. I'll be there to watch it so why wouldn't I want to see the great JFF in Death Valley. I also want him to play against Bama but I'm beginning to suspect that he will somehow be suspended for the Gumps but available for LSU.

I'd like to know if that when the Manziels hired this lawyer several weeks ago if they notified A&M.

I really wonder if these brokers didn't try to extort the family... But you would assument that they would have contacted the FBI and it would be everywhere by now.

This is so convoluted. The lesson for anyone is be careful of the company you keep.

Riiiiiight. This guy looks just like someone who would be profiting under the table off Johnny and not telling a soul.

I love how this thread really is going through all the emotions of ATPB. Pretty soon people are going to start turning up dead and there will be ritual sacrifices and seances. Auburn fans sac'd a chicken, wonder what Aggie fans will use to spill blood.

With all the shite Manziel has put A&M through I just don't see him lasting the season. It will be one thing or another that gets him kicked off the team. I just hope he doesn't take the Aggies with him

I haven't kept up with this story since the initial breaking. How is it looking for Manziel? Better? Worse? Any new evidence?

Now, Johnny Manziel is Rosa Parks.

You know, I don't care how much crawfishing the writer of this column did in hter own piece, there are some comparisons that just shoul dnot be made.

15 years ago nobody would know dick about this b/c there wouldn't be an alleged cell phone video, EBay was a blip on the radar, twitter didn't exist, and the media was nowhere near as voracious for bullshite stories to pump ratings so Johnny Football wouldn't have become anywhere near as famous.
