quote:Yes, i do. Public figures will never win a defamtion suit against ESPN. So you think ESPN was telling the truth about Leach, CAM, and the saints? You dont think they have an agenda like every other business?
And you think ESPN just allows their reporters to publicly defame without sources so they can get sued? Really?

Listen to yourself. You're saying a guy with a shady past is less likely to help a player break NCAA rules than a guy with a spotless past. Think about that.
I'm saying his word is useless and cant be used to condemn Manziel.

Say he did pay Manziel money. He's NOT helping anyone break rules by doing this. We're saying he's more likely to try to pull some BS for money given his background.
I know you're frothing at the mouth at the possibility of another team getting hurt, but pull your pants back up and try some reading comprehension skills.

All I'm saying is taking the word of a known liar and drug dealer isn't something I'm willing to do on faith...and I bet the NCAA isn't either.
I guess you haven't heard of Nevin Shapiro

quote:Spot on. ESPN, CNN, etc are not NEWS stations anymore. They are gossip television. There is zero accountability
Exactly. The thing that pisses me off abou this whole situation, is it will all end up probably amounting to jack shite, yet ESPN can go make this huge ordeal without any sort of proof. Its freaking stupid, and reckless. If this turns, that they have no proof, and nothing happens, Joe Schad should be fired. Period. I can't stand how reckless these media outlets are

ESPN does whatever is can for the benefit of ESPN that is 100% true. They don't give a shite about Bama LSU A&M the Saints or anyone else.
I am not saying that fact he is a crook make his story less credible, I am just saying I assumed he was a shady mfer to begin with.
Have you ever meet any of these broker guys or these "sports agents"? I get my fill of them at the senior bowl. They almost all look like they belong in a Soprano's episode.
If he showed the video to Joe Shaad then it exist. He is in the business of selling shite. It is almost certainly for sale.
Call him up and see what he wants for it. You can bet the Whitehorse boys already have.

So a guy with...
A criminal record
A plead out for lying on a sworn statement to authorities
A motive
Is going to automatically get the benefit of the doubt from everyone?
Manziel doesn't charge this drug dealer a fee to sign all of these items because he's just a good guy and wants to help the shady drug dealer make money. Makes sense, this is normal behavior...right?
Ofcourse not. Maybe it's worse than Manziel charging a fee. Maybe the entire thing is a drug deal gone bad?

Doesn't JFF also have a record? Sounds like someone who would rather make money than follow rules.

No he is not saying that you moron. He is saying a guy with a shady past is more likely to lie. There is a difference
No, he's saying the guy with the shady past is likely to lie about doing something shady when he really didn't.
Everyone else is saying...eh he's shady and probably did the shady thing he said he did since it wasn't illegal for him to do so.

quote:I would agree with that as well. I am just tired of ESPN running these damn soap opera stories. There are multiple other players(AJ, clowney, lee etc) who have autographed items from the same broker. Lets not be so stupid to think that JFF signed his for money and the rest did it for charity
Doesn't JFF also have a record? Sounds like someone who would rather make money than follow rules.

You're either being intentionally obtuse or are just old-school dumb.

quote:Ok, then do we really want the NCAA to go on this crusade? No, and the ncaa doesnt either. That is why they will do nothing. Hell the broker already said he wouldnt comply with the ncaa. ESPN already knows nothing will come of this but they run this Soap Opera story just before the start of the season
Probably yeah

Ding ding ding.
The sooner the people that are enjoying this soap opera can realize what it is, the easier it will be to accept Johnny walking on the field in a few weeks.
"OMG he went to a party at another school!!!1 What a douchebag!"
There's a reason ESPN is shooting the gossip angle, and it's because of the people in this thread who eat it up.

I'm going to load up a van full of A&M stuff, head to College Station, and tell Manziel I'm a convicted drug dealer so he'll sign it all for me.

I have no idea, I didn't see their name in the thread title. Can you link me to the threads with the reports of them accepting money? I would like to read about them also.
