ESPN is based in Bristol. Their risk management division probably advised them not to be out front on this one. They will just buy the rights from TMZ or someone else and have a degree of separation.

Schad claimed "sources" in Camgate. He never said he or ESPN had heard the tapes.

1. Doesn't A&M have to suspend him at least one game for lying to the on-campus compliance department?
2. A&M is in a conundrum. They can't cut bait with JFF because he has no real love for College Station and his family is already unhappy with A&M. If they do, he could go completely scorched earth on A&M. The flip side is that if they know he is guilty and goes out of their way to attempt to protect him, it is a blatant violation to what is considered the A&M honor code. There is no real good solution.
3. So we have 3 separate autograph dealers in 3 separate locations. How in the world does he know how to get a hold of these people and can he potentially finger other athletes for doing to same thing?

I really hope he gets to play this season because Saban probably spent his vacation at the Lake planning how to contain JM.
However, there is a very good solution for everyone. TAMU benches him until further investigation. Papa gets mad and pulls him from school and without admitting any guilt they keep low profile. NCAA goes away. Johnny spends the season working with trainers and laying low and goes in the first round of the 2014 draft.
He was gone after this season anyway, so they need to make this real simple and just make all this go away.

tbh, it's been so long and I don't remember specifics... this isn't near the sh*tshow (yet) than cam was back in 2010 when that story hit, though... but it could get there.

Very well...my statement was just that i don't remember him saying he heard any cam tapes, only that he heard they existed. Now we've won a title and had a 3 win season since then so no telling how many brain cells i've killed in that time so it's very possible that tid bit was attached to one of the weaker brain cells that didn't make it.

I may be in the minority here but that whole situation was embarrassing for me as an Alabama fan...the whole scott whatever his name was claiming there was tapes and shite...I just don't subscribe to anything that is Alleged. not bent out of shape didt mean to come off that way

Any "Autograph Broker" will end his career when he goes on the record. I have a hard time believing anyone will turn over or sell hard evidence.

The second A&M tries to do anything disciplinary to JFF he gives them the bird and walks. He's just a very selfish, spoiled brat who happens to be good at football.
