Tell them to prove that money was involved and if they can't, sue them for costing the university millions of dollars with no hard proof

They don't have to prove it to a criminal court standard. Sucks, but it is that simple.

Now as far as suing, who is going sue? The university probably can't if they want to remain NCAA members. Individual coaches can if they feel unfairly targeted. Some have done so and won settlements in the past, but that doesn't help OM.

I guess it all depends on if Ole Miss can win any of their appeals. I think a two year bowl ban with 20 scholarships reduction over 4 years right now.

Bowls don't really matter that much anymore if it is only one year. If Ole Miss gets only a one year bowl ban than that's not that bad.

This hurts recruiting more than anything. Not just for missing a bowl, but opposing coaches can point to how Ole Miss is in complete disarray and the future is uncertain there.

and that would effectively set a program like Ole Miss back 10+ years

I understand the sentiment but if the recruiting coordinator (or whatever Barney F was called) was involved, it is going to be virtually impossible to win.

Barney Farrar was Asst AD, right? He was actively recruiting and involved in this stuff, FINALLY Ole Miss canned his arse.

I can't believe in 2017 the NCAA is allowed to game the system by abusing the immunity rules to rival schools players in order to rig the case against Ole Miss.

It is so fricked up .

well, they don;t have subpoena power. They have to operate with the mechanisms they have at their disposal. It's not really all that fricked up IMO. Were this a lawsuit, the NCAA would simply subpoena what they needed. They aren't afforded this luxury to build their case.

time to start the investigation into Starkville now.

Lewis might have immunity, but State doesn't.

Also since when has the NCAA allowed a statement from a player of an instate rival the level of State is to Ole Miss?

Has this been done before? If no, then it opens up a whole new can of worms.

Shouldn't the bowl ban be saved for a year that you actually qualify for a bowl?

Sorry OM. You guys just can't catch a break, you cheating bastards.

2003, when State was investigated. One USM player and one Ole Miss player.

Did I say it was all State?

Am I suppose to believe Lewis turned down 15K from Ole Miss and an additional amount from LSU to go to MSU out of the kindness of his heart?

The point of my post is that them accepting that account could open up a huge can of worms with Rival programs.

Auburn/Alabama
Michigan/OSU
Texas/OU
UF/FSU

Ect.

The old saying can come into play here to.

"When the NCAA knocks on your door YOU LIE."

What's to stop these programs manipulating or falsely influencing a decision?

Bowl ban? That's a swift kick to the nuts for the NCAA. Like they are going to bowl game anyways
