McMirphy puts his story on Facebook in the morning saying he has proof Meyer knew.

In an ESPN interview after most people have gone to bed later that same day he says well, you know, I really don’t have proof he knew.

So yeah, he lied to generate clicks and get the court of public opinion going in the direction he wanted to go.

And go frick yourself with the alumnus stuff. I am an alum and am proud of my school and the vast majority of the pride I have in the school has nothing to do with sports. This is a black eye on the university no matter the outcome. If Meyer did something that merits firing then he needs to go. I’m just willing to wait until it all fleshes out. That’s all. We know most of these coaches are egotistical scumbags so I won’t be surprised if he did know and withheld information but I’m willing to let it play out.

Lets assume he did know. Did he break any laws? He lied, which is bad, but not illegal.

Some said Title IX, but that protects students, so this is NOT a Title IX issue. What was he supposed to do? Fire the coach? That usually ends badly for the wife. IF you had an employee and his wife told you, you should probable involve HR and get them counseling (Which I understand they were doing).

A bigger issue is all the assistant coaches in the country who are banging coeds. If a coed ever complained to a head coach and he sat on that, he would be gone immediately.
